The Loft Bar Uxbridge

90/100
The Loft Bar in Uxbridge is a welcoming spot with standout Sunday roasts and a friendly atmosphere that's ideal for a relaxed get-together.
Pros and Cons
What's Great
  • The Sunday roasts are an absolute delight, with tender meats, rich gravies, and fresh veggies that make for a proper hearty meal
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready with a smile and attentive service that makes you feel right at home
  • Great value for money, especially with generous portions and tasty extras like cauliflower cheese and desserts that leave you satisfied
  • A lovely community vibe with good music and drinks that bring people together, perfect for catching up with mates
  • Under new management, they've got a solid mix of Indo-Chinese and Nepalese cuisine alongside the classics, adding a nice twist to the menu
Areas for Improvement
  • The focus seems to be heavily on Sunday roasts, so if you're popping in on a weekday, there might not be as much buzz about the other offerings
  • Opening hours start a bit late in the day, which could be a downside if you're an early bird looking for a spot before the afternoon
  • From what I've seen, there aren't many negatives shared, but it's worth noting that the place might get quite busy on weekends, so you could face a wait

Morello Lounge is a cracking spot in Uxbridge, offering delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere, and some tempting deals that make it ideal for a relaxed catch-up over drinks or a meal.
Pros and Cons
What's Great
  • The food is absolutely delicious, with a fantastic variety including tasty tapas and all-day menus that cater to different tastes – perfect for a satisfying meal any time.
  • The atmosphere is just lovely, with a great vibe, plenty of seating options, and even an outdoor terrace for enjoying the fresh air when the sun's out.
  • Service is quick and friendly, making you feel right at home, whether you're popping in for a quick bite or settling in for the evening.
  • It's wonderfully accessible and dog-friendly, which means everyone can join in on the fun without any hassle.
  • They've got some brilliant deals like Tapas Tuesdays and cheeky cocktails, keeping things affordable and adding a bit of excitement to your visit.
Areas for Improvement
  • The operating hours wrap up a bit early, typically around 10 or 11 pm, so it might not suit those after a late-night sesh.
  • As a lounge bar, it has a more modern feel rather than a traditional pub charm, which could disappoint if you're after that classic cosy vibe.

The General Eliott is a delightful canalside pub in Uxbridge that's all about that warm, welcoming feel, with solid food and a family-friendly vibe that'll make you want to return for more.
Pros and Cons
What's Great
  • The location right by the Grand Union Canal is absolutely charming, with lovely outdoor seating and views that make it perfect for a relaxing pint on a sunny day.
  • It's a cosy, family-run spot with a welcoming atmosphere, including an open coal fire for those chilly evenings and a children's play area that makes it great for families.
  • The food is spot on – think delicious home-cooked meals and excellent breakfasts at reasonable prices, plus perks like a 30% discount for over 60s.
  • Friendly staff and top-notch service really add to the vibe, along with live entertainment that keeps things lively without being overwhelming.
Areas for Improvement
  • Food service hours can be a bit limited, so you might need to plan around them if you're popping in for a meal outside the main times.
  • It can get quite busy at peak times, which might mean waits for tables or drinks, especially with its popularity among locals.
  • The overall setup feels a tad traditional, so if you're after something more modern or trendy, it might not quite hit the mark.

Nonna Rosa is a charming Italian spot in Uxbridge that's all about hearty, authentic grub and brilliant service, though it's temporarily shut for a spruce-up right now.
Pros and Cons

  • They've got cracking deals, such as 2-4-1 cocktails in the evening, and it's all at a moderate price that feels fair for what you get.
Areas for Improvement
  • It's currently closed for refurbishment until May, which is a real shame as you'll have to wait to experience it.
  • With the place under wraps, you might miss out on that vibrant vibe for now, though they've suggested popping next door to Bar Italia in the meantime.

Pros and Cons
What's Great

Areas for Improvement
  • The operating hours seem a bit confusing from what I've seen, with some inconsistencies that might leave you unsure if it's open late or not—worth double-checking before heading out.
  • While the overall rating is a solid 4.2, there might be the odd off day with service or crowds, as not every visit is five-star based on the broader feedback.

The Vine is a charming pub in Uxbridge with inventive food and a buzzing atmosphere, though it's had a few bumps with management that keep it from being perfect.
Pros and Cons
What's Great
  • The food here is really creative and varied – think refreshing salads like beetroot and goat cheese, or that must-try UFO burger that's packed with flavour.
  • The staff are super helpful and friendly, making you feel right at home, with special mentions for folks like Bradley who go the extra mile.
  • It's got a lovely decor and a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a good night out with friends, complete with live music, dancing, and a mix of ages.
  • With a solid 4.2 rating from plenty of folks, it's clear this place knows how to deliver a fun, lively experience for a reasonable price.
Areas for Improvement
  • There seem to be some issues with the pub's direction and leadership, as it's become less welcoming for some regulars, leading to a few folks drifting away.
  • Opening hours can be a bit inconsistent or early on certain days, like shutting all day on Mondays or not starting until 3 PM on Tuesdays, which might throw off your plans.

  • Loads of entertainment options like live music, karaoke, and big screens for watching sports – perfect for a fun night out.
  • It's clean, well-maintained, and has handy features like being dog-friendly and accessible, which makes it feel inclusive.
Areas for Improvement
  • The operating status seems a bit unclear at times, as it was noted as closed in some info, which might mean it's not always reliable for spontaneous visits.
  • While the reviews are glowing, the overall rating sits at 4.1, suggesting there could be occasional hiccups like busier nights feeling a tad overcrowded or service not quite hitting the mark for everyone.
  • The pub food gets mentioned positively, but it's not the star of the show, so if you're after a proper meal, you might need to look elsewhere.

The Fig Tree in Uxbridge is a welcoming spot with cracking food and a homely vibe, though it's worth noting the occasional slip-up with meals.
Pros and Cons
What's Great
  • The food is generally spot on, with the fish and chips coming in for high praise – crispy batter, tender fish, and generous portions that leave you satisfied.
  • Staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like catching up with mates at your local.
  • It's got a lovely, relaxed atmosphere in a historic building that used to be a police station, perfect for a chilled afternoon or evening.
  • Spacious beer garden and plenty of seating inside, ideal for enjoying the nice weather or watching live sports like the Women's Euros.
  • Clean facilities and it's dog-friendly, plus they show Sky and TNT Sports, so it's great for footie fans.
Areas for Improvement
  • Food quality can be inconsistent; one person mentioned their burger had just a thin strip of bacon and the fish was more batter than fish, which was a real letdown.
  • No replacement or fix offered for disappointing meals, which might leave you wishing for a bit more effort from the team.
  • Under 18s aren't allowed after 6 PM due to licensing rules, so it might not be the best choice if you're out with the family in the evening.

The Crown & Treaty is a delightful historic pub in Uxbridge, blending rich heritage with warm service and tasty food, making it a gem for a relaxed catch-up or special occasion.
Pros and Cons
What's Great
  • The historic atmosphere is absolutely charming, with beautiful wood-panelled rooms and a stunning garden bar that make you feel like you're stepping back in time.
  • The food is a real highlight – comforting pub classics with generous portions and great flavours, perfect for a hearty meal or something lighter.
  • Service is top-notch; the staff are incredibly welcoming and accommodating, especially for families or those with mobility needs, making everyone feel right at home.
  • It's got a great vibe for events, from weddings to comedy nights, and the outdoor seating is lovely on a sunny day, especially with easy access to local sights like the Grand Union Canal.
  • They offer a wide selection of local ales and drinks, which adds to that authentic British pub experience.
Areas for Improvement
  • The menu can sometimes feel a bit limited, particularly if you're after something more than lunch-style bites, as it might not always hit the spot for dinner options.
  • Parking is plentiful, but it could do with a proper marked bay for those with disabilities to make things more straightforward.
  • It tends to be quite quiet at times, which is peaceful if you're after a relaxed visit, but it might not suit if you're looking for a lively, buzzing atmosphere.

The Crown is a charming traditional pub in Uxbridge with a welcoming vibe, decent food, and a cosy atmosphere that'll make you want to linger, though it's not as active online these days.
Pros and Cons

  • Friendly staff and locals create a real sense of community, perfect for a chat and a laugh over drinks.
  • They've got good food at reasonable prices, with options that hit the spot for a traditional pub meal.

80/100
Miller's Tap in Uxbridge is a welcoming pub with a great buzz for drinks and events, boasting a solid 4.0 rating, but it's worth noting the occasional service slip-ups to keep things real.
Pros and Cons
What's Great
  • The selection of craft beers and cocktails is spot on, with great deals like 2-4-1 offers that make it a fun spot for a night out.
  • It's brilliant for watching live sport or hosting events, with plenty of options for groups, birthdays, or even bottomless brunches – perfect if you're after a lively vibe.
  • The staff can be really welcoming and go the extra mile, especially for larger gatherings, making you feel right at home.
  • With its central location on Uxbridge High Street and moderate prices, it's an easy choice for a casual get-together or a cheeky drink after work.
Areas for Improvement
  • Service can be inconsistent, with some reports of rude staff or a manager who doesn't always hit the mark, which might put a dampener on your evening.
  • Promotions like cocktail deals aren't always honoured, as one visit showed it being overlooked when the place was quiet, which feels a bit disappointing.
  • It seems like the overall management might be slipping, based on feedback about the place not being as reliable as it used to be.
  • While it's open most days, the timings can vary, and if you're hoping for a buzzing atmosphere, an empty night might not live up to expectations.

Whelan's in Uxbridge is a cracking Irish pub with a lively vibe, top-notch drinks, and great spots for socialising, though it's not without a few bumps in the road.
Pros and Cons
What's Great
  • The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing, with live music and big screens showing all the Premier League and Championship footie – perfect for catching a match with your mates.
  • They've got an incredible selection of gins and ales, including their own Whelan's Ale, which is a real treat if you're after something special.
  • Two beer gardens make it a lovely spot for a sunny afternoon pint, and there's even an area for private hire if you're planning a get-together.
  • Late-night openings on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays mean you can keep the party going until the wee hours, with music to boot.
  • The staff are generally friendly and welcoming, creating that warm Irish pub vibe that makes you feel right at home.
Areas for Improvement
  • There have been a few awkward moments with staff interactions, like one review mentioning getting barred after a tipsy chat – might be worth keeping things light to avoid any hassle.
  • Food can be hit or miss; some folks found the Sunday roast meat a bit chewy and missed out on extras like stuffing, so it might not be the best choice for a hearty meal.
  • A couple of reviews hinted at issues like discrimination, which is a shame and could make some feel uncomfortable – it's not widespread, but it's something to note.
  • While the welcome is warm, the mix of crowds might not suit everyone, especially if you're after a quiet night, as it can get lively with students and office workers.

The Good Yarn is a classic Wetherspoons in Uxbridge – a wallet-friendly haven for enjoying a good drink and chat, though the food might not always steal the show.

  • Service is generally quick and efficient, especially with the handy QR code ordering system.
Areas for Improvement
  • Food can be a bit hit or miss, with some dishes having disappointingly small portions that leave you wanting more.
  • A few folks have mentioned issues with freshness, like coleslaw that didn't taste quite right or salads that weren't up to scratch.
  • If you're after a top-notch meal, it might not hit the mark, as the grub ranges from decent to downright average.
  • While drinks are a strong point, the overall food experience can sometimes dampen the fun.

The 3 Steps is a lively, community-focused pub in Uxbridge that's spot-on for sports, music, and a good chat with mates, though it's not without its rough edges.
Pros and Cons
What's Great
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always welcoming and helpful, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • It's a cracking spot for sports lovers, with loads of live events on big screens and a buzzing atmosphere that gets everyone involved.
  • The outdoor garden is a real gem, perfect for a sunny day with space for kids and dogs, plus outdoor telly and seating for a relaxed vibe.

  • Live music and karaoke nights add a fun, community feel, with bands and events that keep things lively and entertaining.
Areas for Improvement
  • There have been some concerning reports about dodgy goings-on, like drugs being passed around, which could put a dampener on the evening and make you think twice about visiting.
  • The pub's operating status seems a bit unclear from what I've seen, which might mean it's not always open when you'd expect, potentially leading to disappointment.
  • While it's generally family-friendly, that one-star review highlights how things can go south with security issues, so it's worth keeping an eye out for a safe night.

Locos Bar at Brunel University is a decent little spot for a casual get-together, with friendly vibes and fun activities, but watch out for the occasional food slip-ups and chilly temperatures.
Pros and Cons
What's Great
  • The staff are really friendly and provide top-notch service, making you feel right at home.
  • It's got a lovely atmosphere, perfect for catching up with mates over a drink or a game of pool.
  • Some of the food and drinks hit the spot, like those burgers that folks have enjoyed in a relaxed setting.
Areas for Improvement
  • Food can be hit or miss – like those dry chips that left a bad taste, quite literally.
  • They don't always spell out ingredients on the menu, which could be a worry for anyone with allergies, such as mayo on the burgers.
  • It gets freezing inside sometimes because the doors are left open, even in the depths of winter, which isn't ideal for a cosy pint.
