About This Pub
Ah, the Fig Tree – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper gem in Uxbridge, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, folks absolutely rave about the grub, especially that fish and chips – imagine tucking into crispy batter with tender fish and chunky chips that hit the spot every time. The staff are dead lovely too, always up for a chat and making you feel right at home, which really adds to the relaxed, historical charm of the place, being in an old police station and all. It's brilliant for soaking up the sun in the spacious beer garden or catching the big games on TV, and with options for dogs and disabled access, it's quite inclusive. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect; a couple of reviews mentioned dodgy experiences with food portions or quality, like a burger that skimped on the bacon or fish that was more coating than the good stuff, and it was a shame they didn't sort it out on the spot. Still, with a solid 4.1 rating overall, it's mostly a winner for a casual pint or meal, so I'd say give it a go if you're in the area – just keep expectations in check for those off days.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is generally spot on, with the fish and chips coming in for high praise – crispy batter, tender fish, and generous portions that leave you satisfied.
-
Staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like catching up with mates at your local.
-
It's got a lovely, relaxed atmosphere in a historic building that used to be a police station, perfect for a chilled afternoon or evening.
-
Spacious beer garden and plenty of seating inside, ideal for enjoying the nice weather or watching live sports like the Women's Euros.
-
Clean facilities and it's dog-friendly, plus they show Sky and TNT Sports, so it's great for footie fans.
Cons
-
Food quality can be inconsistent; one person mentioned their burger had just a thin strip of bacon and the fish was more batter than fish, which was a real letdown.
-
No replacement or fix offered for disappointing meals, which might leave you wishing for a bit more effort from the team.
-
Under 18s aren't allowed after 6 PM due to licensing rules, so it might not be the best choice if you're out with the family in the evening.

Had the fish and chips at The Fig Tree and it was really tasty.Crispy batter, tender fish, and proper thick-cut chips. The portion was generous, and everything tasted fresh. The pub itself has a warm, relaxed vibe with friendly staff and plenty of space. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and would definitely recommend the place if you’re after a good meal and a chilled-out evening
Ordered cheese & bacon burger, Fish & Chips. Burger had one thin streak of bacon and the plate has 2 smallish onion rings. fish was more batter than… fish. Really disappointing given previous times we have eaten it was been really good. Was hoping for a replacement but didn’t come.
Would have given 1 star but the chips were really nice. With 2 drinks, spend £35… really not worth it this time, very disappointing.
Fancy some nibbles or snack during the day whilst enjoying the nice weather, and went here because of spacious garden and nice ambiance inside this pub. I had this fish and chips.. i must say it’s really good and filling. Customer service is also excellent. 👌🏽
