About This Pub
Ah, The White Hart – it's one of those classic Derbyshire spots that really pulls you in with its beautiful countryside views and that inviting beer garden, perfect for whiling away a lazy afternoon with a cold drink in hand. The food's a standout, I reckon; think hearty, home-cooked pub grub made from local ingredients, whether it's a roast dinner or something lighter, and it's all served up in generous portions that leave you feeling chuffed. Plus, being dog-friendly means it's great for those family outings or walks in the area, and the staff can be lovely when they're on form, adding to that warm, community vibe with live music and events to keep things lively.
But let's be straight, it's not all roses – there have been a few off days, especially since the new management stepped in, with some folks mentioning dodgy service like pints not poured properly or staff moaning in earshot, which can put a bit of a dampener on your visit. We've heard tales of food not being hot enough or the place getting a bit slippery from mopping during peak hours, so it's worth keeping an eye out if you're heading there on a busy evening. Overall, though, if you catch it on a good day, it's a gem for a relaxed meal or drink, and I'd say it's worth giving it a go for the positives, just maybe check their Facebook for the latest events to avoid any potential hiccups.

Cons
-
Service can be hit or miss, especially with the new management, where some have mentioned staff not quite nailing things like pouring a decent pint.
-
There have been a few grumbles about food arriving just warm rather than piping hot, which is a shame when the rest is so good.
-
Occasional slip-ups like mopping floors during busy times can make things a bit chaotic and less enjoyable.
-
Some feedback points to staff chatting about customers while they're still around, which doesn't sit right and can dampen the mood.

Great service, food was well presented but only just warm. Thank you to the lady who brought a water bowl for our dog. We'll be going there again.
New management an absolute poor show, doesn’t know what the hell they are doing! None of the staff know how to poor a pint. Stood moaning about customers whilst they are still in drinking!
Manager decided to mop the floors making them like an ice rink whilst it was at its busiest, I would 110% avoid!!!! Nothing like it used too be!
Excellent pub. Went in with the family for Sunday dinner and was not disappointed.
All fresh cooked food in good portions, even the kids plates had plenty. The Yorkshire puddings were a highlight, fresh cooked and tasty.
Really friendly atmosphere and staff couldn't be more helpful.
Only dropped in on the off chance but will definitely be going back!
I turned up whilst hiking on a Sunday late afternoon so had made no booking. With the gorgeous sunny weather, the pub was very busy however there was still plenty of seating available.
I ordered a roast chicken sandwich which came with a side of roast potatoes and gravy, great sized portion for the price and left me feeling pretty full! Definitely want to return now to try the full roast dinner!
Lovely home made food in a small quaint inn at reasonable prices. The service by Harry was to be commended. I will visit again as the atmosphere, food and drink was great. There is free WiFi and they serve just coffee if you wish. Keep up the good work guys
