About This Pub
Ah, The Carpenters Arms – it's one of those cosy village pubs that just feels like a proper British gem, tucked away in Dale Abbey. I have to say, what really stands out is the beautiful setting; the beer garden is an absolute delight on a nice day, with plenty of space to unwind and even some swings to keep the little ones entertained. The staff are brilliant too, always so friendly and welcoming, making it easy to settle in for a pint or a meal. The food's solid and good value – nothing fancy, but it's tasty and filling, which is just what you want after a walk in the countryside. And if you're travelling in a motorhome, the overnight parking option is a real bonus at such a fair price. On the downside, though, the menu can be a bit of a muddle with pricing errors that might catch you out, and the overall decor has that 90s vibe that's a bit worn around the edges – think quirky but not quite up to date. Still, it's a welcoming spot for a laid-back get-together, and I'd recommend it for anyone after a genuine, no-fuss pub experience, as long as you're okay with its charming imperfections.

Cons
-
The food is a bit basic and straightforward, without much flair to excite the taste buds.
-
The menu can be confusing with incorrect prices listed, which might leave you scratching your head when ordering.

-
Some quirky elements, like an antique hand dryer, add charm but could do with an update for better practicality.

Beautiful setting, lovely big beer garden and pergola for seating and swings for the kids.
Landlady great and so welcoming ( £5 to stay overnight inm/home or camper & no obligation to eat in the pub). We did and food is very basic, also the menu is confusing as the prices are incorrect and when ordering, certain items were charged extra. I ordered a ploughman's but ham and pork pie were extra ( in fact you had to buy a whole pork pie at £6).
Village is very small and quaint with lots of historical finds
Lovely meal with friends. Excellent little pub, wonderful meal, reasonable price. We will be back. Photo taken about 40 years ago😀
Just had a most enjoyable lamb shank for Sunday lunch and parked up now for the night in our motorhome. Overnight parking with electric at a reasonable price. Pleasant resting and lovely food. Would recommend 👍👍
Brilliant staff and service, food was very tasty and plentiful and fair value, A very clean pub with nice furnishings. Worth a stop off if you're passing.
Philip and Leanne were excellent behind the bar top service, Thanks to the kitchen team for a brilliant meal😉👍.
A bit like stepping back into the 90's with the design, decor and general atmosphere. The food was basic level but a fair price for what it was. Think the hand dryer is an antique by now. Quirky really and if you want to park for the night in your campervan it's a fair price with electricity.
