About This Pub
Ah, the Festival Inn – it's one of those neighbourhood pubs in Trowell that's just a stone's throw from Nottingham, offering a laid-back vibe that's ideal for a casual get-together. I love how it's so welcoming to families and dogs, with plenty of space to unwind, and they've really nailed the sports side of things, showing live events like the Women's Euros and rugby tours, which makes it a brilliant spot to cheer on your team over a cold one. The prices are fair too, so you can pop in for a bite without breaking the bank. On the downside, the food's a bit of a mixed bag; while some rave about the steak pie or all-day breakfast, others have had dodgy experiences with undercooked meals that don't quite hit the spot. Service is generally alright, but there are tales of the odd grumpy interaction or tables being ignored, which can put a dampener on the evening. All in all, it's worth checking out if you're nearby, especially for the atmosphere and events, but maybe keep your expectations in check for the grub and have a backup plan just in case.

It might not live up to expectations every time, with complaints about meals arriving too quickly and seeming half-baked.

Meals seem to be very hit and miss at the moment. Used the Pub for Lunch today (29th). All Day Breakfast OK but Mother ordered Scampi. It seemed undercooked (it came in 5 minutes or so ). Seemed still Watery as if it had come out the Freezer and was cooked to quickly. Looked almost raw. Mother is going away for the weekend so the last thing she needs is upset Stomach. The Bar Staff were very apologetic and helpful. Seemed as if it was cooked too quick. It was replaced with another Scampi (cooked better this time). Also the little pot of Barbecue Sauce was Cracked and Chipped. As if it had been dropped on a hard floor. Suggested it be thrown away. Otherwise apart from the above instances Pub and Staff ok.
I hired the function room for my wedding reception, the staff were very accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure the evening ran as I had planned.
Food was delicious and displayed beautifully, we had lots of compliments from our guests.
Thank-you again!!
3 April had the steak pie from the 2 for £13.99 menu. Very nice pie.
17 April took the wife, recommended the steak pie. Different pie this time, inedible. Pastry absolutely rock hard. Not impressed.
One very happy doggy. Staff lovely and good value for money 😁
On arrival, the manager behind the was rude and obnoxious. After searching for a table ourselves, we ordered food which came fairly quickly which surprised us. The food was awful and undercooked. We tried to attract someone's attention to complain. Nobody came to ask if our meal was alright. We left very disappointed and still hungry . We will not be returning.
