About This Pub
Ah, Seven Oaks Inn in Stanton by Dale – it's one of those pubs that really warms your cockles on a chilly day, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this lovely marquee that's perfect for events, like when they stepped in to save a dance show at the last minute due to the weather – talk about going above and beyond! The Sunday carvery sounds absolutely brilliant, with fresh, tasty grub and a solid choice of options that folks rave about, and the staff come across as genuinely polite and eager to please, making it a great spot for a quiet bite or even something more sombre like a wake. Prices are spot on for what you get, and it's generally clean and cosy, which is just what you want after a long week. But, let's be straight, there was that one review mentioning hairs in the food and dodgy plates, which is a bit off-putting and could spoil an otherwise nice visit. Plus, with it only open five days a week and no online info to speak of, you might find yourself scratching your head trying to plan a trip. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're in the area and after a proper pub experience, but keep an eye out for those little hiccups to make sure your time there is top-notch.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always going the extra mile to make you feel welcome – like how they sorted out that last-minute dance event in their marquee!
-
The food is fresh, tasty, and spot on, especially the Sunday carvery with a great selection of meats and veggies that leaves you wanting more.
-
It's a cosy spot for special occasions, whether it's a quiet meal or something like a wake, with a warm atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
-
Prices are fair and moderate, so you get good value without breaking the bank, and the place is generally clean and well-kept.
Cons
-
There have been some hygiene issues reported, like finding hairs in the food and not-so-spotless plates, which could put a damper on your meal.
-
It only seems to be open about five days a week with varying hours, so you might have to plan around that if you're hoping for a spontaneous visit.
-
No website or online presence makes it a bit tricky to check the latest details or book ahead, which is a shame for a place with such potential.

I can't thank the owners Kelly and Ryan enough 🙌🏼 They came to my rescue with a huge dance event that needed to happen with just a days planning due to this unpredictable weather ☔ and an outdoor dance show originally planned at Hemlock!
They allowed me to use their beautiful marquee to fit nearly 150 dancers and all their family, scheduled in bar staff at the very last minute, providing areas for dancers and laid out theatre style chairs to host my event. You honestly were wonderful and I massively appreciate all the efforts you and your staff went to so that our dance group @fsd dance academy were able to perform after so many months of hard work and preparation 💃🏼
Huge thank you, Fesa
We wanted a quiet & quality carvery and got exactly that, with plenty of places to choose to sit, polite and friendly staff, clean and fair priced, will be a returning customer
Fantastic Sunday carvery here, all fresh and tasty and a great choice of meats and vegetables. Service is brilliant ang team are friendly. Worth booking!
Attended a wake after a funeral. Lovely cosy and warm inside after being out in the cold all morning. Very nice buffet was provided. Nicely decorated.

We went for lunch here, service was fine, staff friendly however we had an issue with hygiene. The food was nice, tasty and good portions but I found two hairs in my food, I have reported it to waitress but when I got my dessert I have found another two. Also plates and cutlery could be washed better. Toilets were clean. Nice outside sitting area and playground for children. Could be super pub as it has lots if space however the hygiene standards in kitchen must be improved. I would give 5 stars if not these issues.
