About This Pub

Ah, Wolseys in Bangor – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food really steals the show; think mouth-watering steaks and pasta dishes that folks rave about time and again, all at prices that won't leave you feeling short-changed. The team there are an absolute delight, always cheerful and ready to lend a hand, whether it's sorting out a special request or just making sure your evening runs smoothly. It's in such a handy location too, right on the high street, perfect for a casual catch-up over a pint or a full meal with mates. But, on the downside, it can turn into a bit of a hubbub when things get busy, with the crowd making it noisier than you'd like for a cosy dinner – so if you're after something more subdued, you might want to pick your time wisely. All in all, it's a solid choice for a fun night out, with plenty of positives that outweigh the minor niggles, making it well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious and consistently well-received, with highlights like the steak nights offering great value for a hearty meal.
  • Staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always going the extra mile to make everyone feel at home and even adapting for families with special needs.
  • It's got a perfect spot in Bangor, making it easy to pop in for a drink or a bite in a lively atmosphere.
  • Prices are really reasonable, so you can enjoy a top-notch meal without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • It can get a bit noisy and crowded at times, especially when it's busy with folks enjoying a drink, which might disrupt a more relaxed dining experience.
  • Depending on when you visit, the bar vibe might overshadow the restaurant feel, so it's not always the quietest spot for an intimate meal.

Quiet Tuesday, took the lids to bangor for the day , tried this place a few years ago and was happy to see it still open. Beautiful food, not expensive, great and friendly staff , perfect location and with having an autistic son they were more than happy to adapt for him. Thankyou for a lovely afternoon lunch

Lovely food and staff. Great drinks menu! Great to go to as a bar. As a restaurant the food is lovely and service great but depending on times can be a bit busy with people drinking and loud obviously. Been for meals as a couple and in groups and food is consistent.
