About This Pub
Ah, Whitehills in Northampton – it's one of those reliable spots that just hits the mark for a casual get-together. From what I've gathered, the staff go above and beyond to make sure you're looked after, with quick and cheerful service that really adds to the experience; think helpful recommendations and a warm chat while you're waiting for your food. The food itself is a winner – big, tasty portions from the grill, like that delicious gamon skillet or lasagne, and at prices that won't break the bank, it's ideal for a midweek treat or a weekend wind-down. It's particularly great for families, with outdoor play areas and a laid-back setting that keeps everyone happy, and sports fans will love the live screenings of events like the Women's Euros or rugby tours. On the flip side, it can get a tad predictable as part of a chain, and if you pop in late, you might find some menu choices have run out, which is a bit of a shame on a busy day. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone in the area looking for good value and a friendly buzz, but it might not wow you if you're after something more unique – still, I'd say it's worth a visit for the positives alone.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
Fantastic value for money with deals like two meals for £12.49, and the portions are generous – perfect for a satisfying lunch or dinner.
-
A family-friendly spot with outdoor play areas and plenty of space, ideal for bringing the little ones along.
-
Great selection of beers, spirits, and live sports screenings, so it's brilliant for catching the big games in a lively atmosphere.
-
Easy parking and a welcoming vibe, with quick service and clean surroundings that make for a relaxed visit.
Cons
-
Options might be limited at busier times or later in the day, like running out of certain dishes, which could disappoint if you're after something specific.
-
While the overall rating is solid, it's not perfect for everyone, as some might find the atmosphere a bit standard for a pub chain.
-
The outdoor areas are nice, but they could do with more upkeep on occasion to keep everything in top shape.

My wife and I had steaks. Only option left was Rump. It was a bit late in the day when we got there so assumed they had had a busy day.
Good selection of beers and spirits.
