About This Pub

Ah, the White House Unique Social Club – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local gem in Ashington, you know? From what I've gathered from folks who've popped in, it's all about that warm, down-to-earth vibe where you can grab a pint without breaking the bank, and the staff really make you feel at home, sometimes even with little touches like a lift back if you've had a few. The darts and pool setups are spot on for a laugh with your group, and if you're into live music, their gigs are apparently a highlight – think cracking bands and a buzzing crowd. On the upside, it's inexpensive and has a function room that's great for events, giving it that community heart. But let's be honest, it does have its rough edges; the decor's a bit tired and could use a modern spruce-up to keep things fresh. Plus, their website's a bit of a mess, so you might struggle to find details online, and the opening times aren't always straightforward, which could catch you out if you're planning a late one. All in all, it's a solid choice for a straightforward, enjoyable night, especially if you're after good value and a genuine local feel, but it might not wow you with fancy frills.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The drinks are reasonably priced, making it a brilliant spot for a budget-friendly night out with mates.
  • The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, often going the extra mile like offering lifts home – that's proper community spirit.
  • It's got top-notch facilities for darts and pool, ideal for a bit of friendly competition.
  • They host cracking music nights and gigs, turning it into a lively venue for live entertainment.
  • The atmosphere has that classic, cosy local club vibe that's just perfect for a relaxed get-together.
Cons
  • The place could do with a bit of a refresh; it's got that old-school feel that might seem a tad dated now.
  • Their online presence isn't the strongest, with website issues that make it tricky to get info before heading over.
  • Operating hours seem a bit inconsistent or limited in the evenings, so it's worth double-checking to avoid disappointment.

Went there purely because they sell Carling Premier and got the warmer welcome and even got given a lift back to Morpeth of the landlord after the 4 of us had smashed 7 pints each of this magnificent beer.

White House Social Club in Ashington is a decent spot for a night out. Drinks are reasonably priced, and there’s usually a good atmosphere. The place could use a bit of an update, but it's got that classic, local club vibe. Not fancy, but it does the job!
