Food was nice, service was great and it's a really nice pub with a seemingly good atmosphere BUT the place was far too loud!! It was impossible to enjoy the food or have a conversation with that kind of noise level. First had to contend with a Football match blaring ridiculously loud out of every speaker, then loud music, then someone singing. A otherwise nice meal and get together with friends was unfortunately ruined by needlessly loud entertainment and we all ended up leaving far earlier than we planned.
Lovely Sunday dinner. Super friendly staff and great atmosphere. Wanna say a special shout out to the waitress Michelle, her service was amazing, she couldn’t do enough for us. Will definitely be back :)
Great pub, writing a review as I have moved to the other side of the country 6 years ago, but my parents still lived walking distance to the pub, however they are now retired and relocating too!
1st Damo, lovely bloke and always friendly and chatting away about football ect, I actually class him as a mate! Plus as a vegetarian, he always makes sure there is something for me to have and has cooked specifically to my needs!
2nd, Laura, so friendly and really accommodating to me and my family over the years, but the most special thing to me is how great she is with my son Alex! He’s always been shy and a little different to most children, but Laura goes above and beyond to make him happy and bring him out of his shell, especially at Xmas events that Damo and Laura put on!!
I will come back and see you all when I’m back in Bristol!!!
We decided to go here for a meal as we were in the area. It's a lovely clean pub, plays music of all genres which we liked. We both had food, my partner loved the gamon which was uniquely covered in black pepper. I had the mac and cheese which was lovely. To finish the brownie was lovely, didn't taste microwaved like lots of deserts in other pubs. Would definitely reccomend.
My first visit, with my friend and his dog.On entering the pub you immediately notice the decor, obviously needs an refurbishment or some money spent, especially on the carpets, taking this aside we were met by very friendly bar staff who accommodated us having the dog. After being seated we were served by Michelle who couldn't be more accommodating even bringing the dog a bowl of water and a bowl of scraps. The meal a Sunday Roast of beef was superb, followed by a delicious desert, the price of the roast was £9,incredible,I know everyone has standards but for the price I got over the decor, which was superseded by the quality of the food and the top class service from Michelle, she is a star and deserves a top class wage to keep her services,I hope the landlord passes on my views to management,so in all recommended if you want a good reasonable Sunday Roast.
Just a quick update for the staff, nearly 400 views on my review in 3 days,it's going to be popular ,better get some more Michells quick, good luck,Back for our second visit to see if the standard has dropped but today's meal, steak and ale pie is to die for, another update we now have over 10000 views on our Sunday Roast photo, be back soon
