About This Pub

Ah, The Greenbank in Easton, Bristol – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it with folks, it's spot on for a relaxed afternoon or evening out. The food really steals the show; their pizzas are cracking, and the roasts are hearty affairs with loads of tasty veg and generous servings that leave you satisfied. Pair that with a pint of something local, and you're in for a treat. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which gives the place that genuine community buzz. It's got a nice beer garden for soaking up the sun, and being dog-friendly means you can bring your furry mate along. But, and I say this honestly as a mate would, it does have its downsides. Some evenings, it can get a bit lively with families and kids, which is brilliant if that's your scene, but if you're hoping for a more subdued night, it might feel a tad overwhelming. Still, overall, it's a solid choice for pub goers looking for a balanced spot with great grub and a welcoming feel – just keep those preferences in mind when you pop in!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – their pizzas and roasts are top-notch, with generous portions and flavours that could give a fancy restaurant a run for its money.
  • It's got such a warm and welcoming vibe, making it a brilliant spot to catch up with mates or family in a cosy corner or out in the sun-trap courtyard.
  • The staff are fantastic; they're helpful, friendly, and really make you feel at home, which adds to that community feel.
  • Being a proper community hub, they've got a varied events calendar and plenty of local brews on tap, plus it's dog-friendly and has a lovely beer garden for those sunny days.
  • It's family-oriented, which is great if you're out with little ones, offering a relaxed space where everyone can enjoy themselves.
Cons
  • It can sometimes feel a bit like a family playground, especially on busier evenings, which might disrupt the peace if you're after a quiet pint with friends.
  • Booking policies are a tad strict, with potential charges for no-shows, so it's worth double-checking to avoid any surprises.
  • The opening hours vary a bit, and it might not always suit late-night crowds, closing relatively early on some days.

We came here on a first table booking. Food was good. Freya was our waitress and she was very helpful and welcoming, we would definitely come back.

This is a great pub, but sadly feels like a crèche for parents to let their kids run around screaming while they get pissed. Appreciate that during the day a pub needs to keep things family friendly to keep a business viable, but when you're in there on a Saturday night and can't hear your mate sat next to you speaking because there are so many kids shouting and parents seemingly oblivious to it, it pretty much kills all the good things about this pub.

The Greenbank is my defacto local. It's a great place to go for a pint and some grub if you fancy it. Pizza's are top notch and the roasts are pretty good too. There's always a lovely atmosphere and the staff are very friendly too.

The service and food was amazing. It’s a family pub where everybody can enjoy. Ordered duck breast and cauliflower wings. Both amazing in taste, michelin star level. Will come back for sure. Thank you guys!

We had 2 pork & 1 beef roast with a side of blue cheese leek gratin. Generous portions, great array of veg - all very tasty, an all round corker of a roast. Would highly recommend!
