About This Pub
Ah, the Victoria Inn – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local hideaway, you know? I had a wander in the other day, and what struck me straight off was how they've kept all that lovely Victorian charm intact, with its snug areas and a roaring fire that makes it cosy on a chilly evening. The real stars here are the beers; with 14 hand pumps, they've got an impressive lineup that had me spoilt for choice, and it's no wonder it's won awards for being Rugby's best real ale spot. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels welcome, which really shines through in the glowing reviews from folks who've popped in for a pint or to watch the footie on those big screens. It's brilliant for dog owners too, as it's so accommodating to four-legged visitors, adding to that community feel. On the flip side, though, the food's a bit basic – think tasty rolls and pies, but nothing fancy, so if you're peckish for a proper nosh, you might want to plan ahead. And those Sunday hours can be a bit of a muddle, so double-check before you go. All in all, if you're after an authentic pub experience with great ales and a friendly buzz, this one's a winner, but it might not be the place for a more upscale evening out.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The selection of real ales is absolutely brilliant – with 14 hand pumps, it's a real treat for any ale enthusiast, and they've got some cracking brews on offer.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in, just like chatting with old mates.
-
It's super dog-friendly, which is perfect if you're out with your furry companion; plenty of reviewers mentioned their pups having a great time.
-
The atmosphere is spot on for a traditional British pub, with original features, a cosy snug with a real fire, and even outdoor beer festivals in the summer.
-
They show live sport on big screens, so it's a top spot for catching the game with a pint in hand.
Cons
-
The operating hours can seem a bit confusing, especially on Sundays with varying times listed, which might catch you out if you're planning a visit.
-
Food options are pretty limited, mostly just fresh rolls and pork pies, so if you're after a full meal, you might need to head elsewhere.
-
It has that classic old-school vibe, which is charming but could feel a tad outdated if you're in the mood for something more modern or trendy.

Great old skool pub, Staff are very friendly and welcoming.
What an amazing pub! Great location for football ground and a super friendly atmosphere. Bar staff were lovely, and Jessie, my collie, had a wonderful time. The range of ales was fabulous. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.
My husband & I had a fab tasty craft beer to celebrate a 1 year mark event & we absolutely love this pub. It's so gorgeous & def our fave now. If you're ever in the neighbourhood, you must treat yourself to a wonderful beer in this atmospheric pub.
If you're looking for a traditional British pub that's welcoming to both humans and their furry friends, then the Victoria Inn in Rugby is the place for you. This pub is one of the most dog-friendly places I've ever been to, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes both you and your four-legged friend feel right at home.
The Victoria Inn may not serve food, but it more than makes up for it with its excellent selection of real ales and other drinks. This is a place where you can relax with a pint or two and soak up the atmosphere, surrounded by the friendly and colorful characters that make up the local community.
Speaking of characters, the locals at the Victoria Inn are some of the most memorable I've ever encountered. From the chatty regulars to the friendly bar staff, everyone here is full of character and stories to tell. It's the kind of place where you can strike up a conversation with a stranger and end up making a new friend.
