About This Pub

Ah, London Calling – it's one of those pubs that just warms you up from the inside out, especially if you're after a belting breakfast to start your day. From the reviews I've seen, the food is spot on, with people going on about how fabulous the fry-ups are, loaded with all the classics done just right. The staff sound like absolute gems, always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels welcome, which really adds to the homely vibe. Plus, with a solid lineup of beers and some good tunes in the background, it's a great spot for kicking back and enjoying a proper pub atmosphere. On the flip side, the opening times are a bit of a muddle, so you might end up scratching your head trying to figure out when it's actually open. And without an online presence, it's not the easiest to get the lowdown beforehand. All in all, it's a winner for a casual outing, but I'd say go in with realistic expectations – the highs outweigh the lows, and it's worth a visit if you're in Rugby.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The breakfast is absolutely superb, with folks raving about the hearty fry-ups that really hit the spot
  • Staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in
  • There's a great selection of beers and some lively music, perfect for a relaxed catch-up with mates
Cons
  • The operating hours look a bit confusing and inconsistent, which might make planning a visit tricky
  • No website means it's harder to check details or menus before you go, so you might have to wing it
  • A couple of reviews mentioned minor niggles with the food, like sausages being a tad fatty, so it might not be perfect every time

Not the first time I've set foot in the London Calling mainly at night if I do decide I'm going out. But this was a Christmas treat from my friend who asked me about having a breakfast. I don't usually have food in pubs etc. But it was a treat and the breakfast was fabulous and the staff aswell. I'll be back before 2025 arrives 👍 I've been back again food is awesome 👍

Took my mate for breakfast for the first time to London Calling. Very friendly staff. The breakfast was superb . We have tried a lot of places for breakfast locally. London Calling is by far the best we have tried in Rugby

I'd heard this place did a good fried breakfast, so when I happened to actually be in town of a morning, I decided to give it a try. I had the middleweight breakfast, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 hash browns, beans, toast, and I exchanged the mushrooms and tomatoes so I could have 2 fried eggs. Sausages were really good, bacon was nice, eggs were runny, hash browns were well cooked, crispy on the outside. Glass of orange juice was good and cold, coffee was just help yourself to nescafe, which was the only slight let down, but by no means ruined the experience, and I'd definitely go back. Staff were friendly, place was clean.
