About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about the Uxbridge Arms – it's one of those hidden gems in Burton-on-Trent that just warms your heart from the moment you step inside. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are absolute stars; they're always greeting you with a smile and making sure you're looked after, which really makes the place feel like a proper community hub. The drinks are spot on too – good value and a solid selection that won't empty your wallet, ideal for a relaxed evening with mates. It's got that authentic old-school charm, like stepping back in time to a classic British pub, which is something I reckon we'd all appreciate in this fast-paced world. On the flip side, it does close up a bit early at 10 PM most days, so if you're planning a big night, you might need to head elsewhere afterwards. And while it's perfect for a cosy catch-up, it might not wow you if you're after something more contemporary or with a wider range of options. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone in the area looking for a friendly spot to unwind – I'd say give it a go if you're nearby, as the positive vibes definitely outweigh any minor drawbacks.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • It's got that classic traditional pub vibe, which is a rare find these days and really adds to the community spirit.
  • Drinks are reasonably priced, so you can enjoy a pint without breaking the bank – perfect for a casual night out.
  • The overall atmosphere is warm and inviting, with the landlord and landlady going above and beyond to make everyone feel cared for.
Cons
  • The opening hours are a bit on the early side, typically wrapping up around 10 PM, which might not suit late-night folks.
  • It seems like a straightforward, no-frills spot, so if you're after something more modern or fancy, it might feel a tad outdated.

Was in Burton overnight with some family went into a few pubs and this one was by far the best. Everyone in the pub was very friendly and helpful. All the bar staff were very welcoming and friendly. And the price of drinks were very good too. Would recommend if you are near the area.

Good old fashioned traditional community pub. These type of pubs are very few and far between nowadays! We haven't been in there for a few years but will definitely pop in there again soon! The bar supervisor was a great friendly chap, and friendly staff is always a MUST with me! 😀
