About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about the Two Chairmen—it's one of those classic London pubs that just feels like a proper hidden gem, especially with its rich history dating back before 1729. I love how they've kept that old-school atmosphere alive, with a cosy interior that's perfect for a relaxed catch-up over a pint or a meal. The food's generally a winner; think hearty British classics like pea and mint soup or fish and chips that hit the spot, and they've got thoughtful options for vegetarians and vegans too, which is always a plus. What really stands out is the service—everyone's so friendly and on point, even when the place is buzzing, making you feel right at home. It's great for groups or if you're popping in with the family or even your furry friend, as they're super welcoming. On the flip side, though, some of the dishes can be a bit middling; a few folks mentioned the burgers or pies were okay but nothing to write home about, so it might not be the place for a gourmet adventure. And do keep in mind it gets packed, which could mean a wait for your grub, plus it's shut on Sundays, so plan accordingly if you're out and about. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good pub experience—worth a visit for the vibe and the service alone, as long as you're up for a bit of the hustle and bustle.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The historic charm of this pub is absolutely delightful—it's one of the oldest in Westminster, making you feel like you're stepping back in time with its warm, welcoming vibe.
-
The service is spot-on; staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, even when things get busy, which really makes for a pleasant visit.
-
They serve up some cracking traditional pub food, like delicious pea and mint soup or fish and chips, with options for vegetarians and vegans, so there's something for everyone.
-
It's family and dog-friendly, plus they've got WiFi and can handle groups or functions, making it a versatile spot for all sorts of get-togethers.
Cons
-
Some dishes are just alright and might not knock your socks off—like the burgers or steak pie that were described as fine but not particularly memorable.
-
It can get quite crowded, which means you might have to wait for your food or a table, even though the staff do their best to keep things running smoothly.
-
The opening hours are a bit limited, with it closed on Sundays, so it's not ideal if you're looking for a spot that's open every day of the week.

We've just had a lovely lunch. Pea and mint soup was delicious and fish and chips was worth the wait. The pub was extremely busy but staff was very attentive. This was my second visit, they did not disappoint. I would definitely visit again.
We had an amazing time as a group of 7 at this pub.
The food was sensational, really good options with more British choices.
However the service was where this place really really shined, great and quick service with friendly servers and staff.
Really friendly, and very happy to come back again when we are in London.
Charming pub with decent food.
The burgers were okay – nothing spectacular, just fine. I also tried the steak and ale pie, which was well-made but not really to my taste.
What really stood out was the charming interior and the great staff – friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Overall, a pleasant place to sit and enjoy a drink or meal, even if the food didn’t wow me.
Late post but we had lunch in Two Chairmen Nov 2024 we had the great steak and soup and mostly the black mojito and spice red margarita well done.. Thanks for amazing experience.
