About This Pub
Ah, The Feathers – it's one of those classic London pubs that just feels like a proper gem, especially if you're after a taste of tradition in the heart of the city. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the food is a real winner; those pies and other British favourites are packed with flavour and come highly recommended, making it a top spot for a hearty meal. The staff are genuinely welcoming, adding that personal touch that makes you want to linger a bit longer, and the historic setting with its Prince of Wales theme and occasional live music gives it a charming, lively feel. It's conveniently placed near the tube, so it's perfect for squeezing in after a wander around Westminster. On the downside, the operating hours look a tad muddled, which could throw off your plans, and being in such a bustling area means it often gets crowded, so you might have to queue or put up with the buzz if you're not keen on noise. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out, with plenty of positives that outweigh the niggles, but it's worth going in with realistic expectations for a traditional pub experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on, with brilliant traditional British dishes like those tasty pies, Scotch eggs, and fish and chips that really hit the mark.
-
The service is warm and attentive; staff members go the extra mile to make you feel welcome, just like in the reviews where someone mentioned Joel's fantastic help.
-
It's got a cracking historic atmosphere, with a nod to the Prince of Wales and some live entertainment that adds to the fun.
-
The location is spot on, right near St. James or Westminster Tube, making it dead easy to pop in after a day out exploring London.
Cons
-
The operating hours listed seem a bit confusing and inconsistent, which might leave you scratching your head about when it's actually open.
-
It can get pretty busy in such a central spot, so you might end up waiting for a table or dealing with a lively crowd.
-
As with many city pubs, it might not be the quietest place if you're after a relaxed chat over a pint.

The spare rib brisket meat pie had layers of flavor that were absolutely terrific..... Really glad we visited!
The Scotch egg was amazing and the English pie was equally impressive. A solid spot if you’re after traditional British fare.
If you come up from St. James or Westminster Tube Stations, you really should not miss The Feathers. Quintessential British pub with proper fish & chips, little or no wait time, & the greatest kind service around! Beautiful, & comfortable.

A proper British pub with a Prince of Wales theme. The beers, food and the live entertainment we experienced on Friday 27th was brilliant! I’d love to know who the musicians were? We called back to the pub on a few occasions during our stay, the cask ale and jager bombs was something else. Worth a visit if in the area.
Currently traveling to London for the first time. Immediately Joel greeted my family and personally walked up upstairs. He listened to us being annoying Americans, gave great service, and was a joy! I got the steak pie (10/10, and I don’t like steak), had an amazing Pimms drink, and had a lovely tea to finish. My family had the christmas pudding & brownie and loved it! I wish I was a local just to come again! 10/10 please come! Thank you Joel! Thank Kian!
