About This Pub
Oh, you know, when it comes to The Sanctuary House in Westminster, it's one of those places that just feels like a proper gem in the city. Picture this: you're right in the thick of it, with Westminster's buzz just outside the door, making it dead easy to wander off to the attractions without any hassle. The rooms are a treat – clean, comfortable, and with those little extras like daily freshening up and fluffy robes that make you feel right at home. And the staff? They're an absolute joy, always cheerful and ready to lend a hand, whether it's directions or recommendations. Then there's the pub side, where you can tuck into a smashing breakfast or some traditional fare, all in a cosy setting that's perfect for unwinding. But, to keep it real, the coffee might not be the star of the show, so you could skip that and stick to the beers. Plus, with the hours not being crystal clear and a bit of uncertainty about whether it's open, it's wise to double-check before you go. All things considered, it's a solid spot for anyone after a mix of comfort, good company, and that classic London pub feel – I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Cons
-
The coffee isn't quite up to par, but let's face it, it's more of a pub than a coffee shop, so you might want to grab one elsewhere.

-
There's some confusion with the status showing as closed in places, so it might be worth verifying it's open before you head over.

Fantastic boutique hotel in a great location, close to many tourist attractions. The room was a decent size and cleaned daily, loved the shower and robes/slippers provided. Breakfast in the pub was wonderful and delicious. Staff were very kind and helpful.
I just returned home from my UK trip, having stayed at four different hotels in London and Scotland. The Sanctuary House Hotel was the best of the four. The SUPER comfortable bed and pillows, well-designed and equipped room, friendly staff, very good breakfast, and fantastic central location in Westminster made it the perfect home base for my first visit to London.
Possibly one of our favourite hotels we have ever stayed in and for the price it was even more pleasantly surprising. The staff were friendly, and helpful. The say was amazing, on the steps of Westminster, and situated in relative walking distance to everything. For being at the centre of London it was a quiet stay. This is a true hidden gem of a hotel.
A real hidden gem! This was the perfect hotel for a short stay. The rooms were clean and very comfortable, the decor was cosy and had real character. The pub downstairs is a great place to relax after walking around town all day. The location is great too, right in the middle of Westminster.

The pub was open on Christmas, which was absolutely wonderful. It had such a cozy atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Although the coffee wasn’t quite to my taste, I must admit, it’s a pub after all, and we were probably at fault for ordering coffee instead of beer. But it was a bit too early in the day for alcohol for me.
That said, the place itself is lovely—warm, atmospheric, and perfectly located near Westminster Abbey. I’d definitely recommend stopping by, whether for a drink or just to enjoy the ambiance. Given how great the pub is, I imagine the attached hotel must also be excellent!
