Traitors gate pub in Grays

Ah, Traitors Gate – what a lovely little find in Grays! I have to say, it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a relaxed pint. The staff are absolute stars; they're so chatty and professional, making you feel like you're catching up with mates rather than just grabbing a drink. And the beers? Well, they've got a brilliant range of cask ales that are always in top condition, plus the prices are spot on – none of that eye-watering markup you see elsewhere. The atmosphere is just right too, with natural light pouring in, a pool table for a bit of fun, and TVs if you're up for watching the game. It's open seven days a week from noon, which is handy for a weekend session or a midweek wind-down. But, and I have to be honest here, it's not all perfect – that whiff of urine when you first enter is a real shame and could spoil the experience for some. It's probably something they could sort out with the drains, but as it stands, it's a bit off-putting. Oh, and it's a bit of a trek from the main drag, so you might want to drive or hop in a cab if you're not in the mood for a walk. All in all, though, if you're after a solid, no-fuss pub with great brews and a safe feel, it's worth checking out – just keep your expectations in check for that one niggle.
