About This Pub

Ah, The Bull in Grays – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is a real highlight; think seasonal twists on pub classics that are cooked to perfection, like those tasty kebabs or a massive Sunday roast that'll sort you out after a long week. The staff are genuinely lovely, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which makes it ideal for family outings or even bigger events like christenings – plenty of folks have raved about how accommodating they are. That outdoor garden with its cosy booths is just the ticket for a sunny afternoon with a cold pint in hand, and it's family-friendly too, which is a nice touch. On the flip side, it does get packed at times, so you'd want to plan ahead to snag a spot, and some evenings wrap up a bit early, which might not suit if you're in the mood for a proper night out. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after a warm, welcoming spot in Grays for good grub and good times – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious, with standout dishes like the Korean chicken, melt-in-your-mouth ribs, and hearty Sunday roasts that leave you wanting more.
  • Service is top-notch and really welcoming; the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or hosting a special event.
  • The outdoor garden with private booths is a brilliant spot for soaking up the sun, enjoying craft beers, and having a laid-back time with family or friends.
  • It's great for all sorts of occasions, from family days to celebrations like baptisms or work dos, with plenty of space and a relaxed vibe that suits everyone.
  • Prices are spot on for what you get – moderate and offering good value, especially with packages for booth hire starting from just £99.
Cons
  • It can get quite busy, especially on weekends or for events, so you might need to book ahead to avoid disappointment.
  • Some days have earlier closing times, which could limit options if you're after a late-night pint or meal.

I have been here a few times now and always get a nice welcome on entering the pub. Service was excellent and the food was lovely. I had Korean Chicken with a sweet chilli sauce for starters and a Trio of kebabs with Chips and slaw for my main course....both were delicious. Tammy was excellent and looked after us all evening. She was so very professional, friendly and polite. Really made it a special evening for my friends and I. Thank you. We will be back.

We held our sons Baptism celebrations at The Bull on Sunday 25th May and we are so pleased we chose this venue. Ahmed and his team could not do enough for us. All of our guests commented highly on the venue, quality of food and drinks, the service, and suitability for the children. We had a wonderful day celebrating 🥳🥂 Thank you all very much for making it such a special day for us

We had a function on 2nd November 2024 it was my daughter and son christening. The food was amazing 5 stars ⭐️ and also we could bring our dog into the pub too which was really good. We could also decorate the area we had with balloons and banners. The staff was so friendly and also the owner is friendly and very welcoming. We had such lovely night and will recommend to everyone.
