About This Pub
Ah, The Woodbine – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper gem tucked away near Epping Forest, and I'd happily chat about it over a pint with mates. From what I've gathered from the buzz around, the food is where they truly shine; think hearty Sunday roasts with juicy beef and all the trimmings, or tasty pub classics made with fresh, local ingredients that give everything that extra authentic touch. It's heartening to see them supporting local farms and even growing their own herbs, which not only makes the meals feel special but also shows they're mindful of the environment. The staff are an absolute delight, always friendly and eager to make your visit memorable, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or settling in for a full meal. And let's not forget the atmosphere – it's got that cosy, traditional feel with a lovely garden for when the weather's on your side, plus live music that livens things up without overwhelming the place. On the flip side, though, it does get mobbed at peak times, particularly Sundays, so booking a table is a must to skip the queues, and watch out for those little add-ons to your bill, like extra charges for sauces, which can nudge the costs up a tad. Overall, it's a solid spot for a relaxed get-together, offering great value and a genuine sense of community, but just keep those busier moments in mind for the best experience.

It can get pretty packed, especially on Sundays, so you'll want to book ahead to avoid waiting around.
-
Some menu items come with extra surcharges, like sauces for your steak, which might catch you off guard if you're on a budget.
-
The hours wrap up a bit earlier on Sundays, so if you're planning a late one, you might need to adjust your plans.

May family and I have eaten at The Woodbine Inn twice so far during our stay. Pricing is extremely reasonable, the food is more than just pub food. Today we enjoyed the Traditional roast which was delicious. My mom had all the meats and I had the beef. Their desserts are out of this world today we tried the raisin and rum ice cream along with the toffee pudding. The service is phenomenal. The owners are so helpful and friendly, making suggestions of what types of traditional condiments will go with the different foods. The food at the Woodbine is locally grown and mostly organic. We plan on returning again while we’re in town. I highly recommend this restaurant as they can accommodate small to large parties. He won’t be disappointed. Enjoy!
Wonderful little pub with absolutely fantastic food. I highly recommend the bar dogs, so good I could have one every day.
All the food is great hand made pizzas to succulent burgers and so much more.
Staff are very friendly and have a no nonsense approach.
Oh and regular live music nights, it gets busy during these but well worth it as the vibe is electric.
Basically whatever you want from a quick pint to a full blown slap up meal you cannot go wrong.
Absolutely delicious food and a great selection of beer. The fish and chips was delightful and the chips were nicely fried. The homemade ice cream was one of the best ice creams I’ve had as well.
The outer garden space was lovely and away from the main road. The staff was friendly as well. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my visit here.
The owner was very friendly and accommodating as we didn’t book a table but he managed to find one for us. (Note: it was extremely busy on Sunday around 1 pm. Reservation is recommended.)
He made sure the table was clean and told us a bit about the locally sourced ingredients and their home made ice cream.
I had chicken Sunday roast (£17) which was nice. I give it 4/5 for flavours. Portion for fish n chips was large (£16).
A nice find.
Got the Groupon deal three-course meal for £28 for two. The food was lovely, decent portions and the lady that served us greeted us with a big smile and was happy, friendly and helpful. With the deal we had there was a £7 surcharge for the steak and £3 for a Stilton or peppercorn sauce. My partner had the steak which he couldn't stop raving about for days afterwards and he would quite happily pay £40plus for a steak of that quality. He was a very Happy customer. I had the chicken katsu and rice which they very kindly changed from chicken to quorn for me, it was delicious. Our starters and deserts were equally delicious 😋 We sat in the conservatory section of the pub, I thought it was going to be cold in there but it wasn't it was nice and cosy. We will definitely visit again as we have read so many good things about the roast dinners here, can't wait to try it!
