About This Pub

Ah, The Sultan in Waltham Abbey – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a friendly neighbourhood spot, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the team there, especially the landlady Kerry and her crew, go out of their way to create a really inviting atmosphere. Whether it's catching up with mates over a pint or enjoying the weekend events with live music and all, it sounds like a proper laugh. The drinks get high marks too; I've heard tales of the best Guinness in ages, which is always a winner for us pub lovers. And it's kept so tidy, which makes popping in for a quick one even more enjoyable. On the flip side, not everyone's chatting about the food, so you might want to have a look at the menu or ask around before ordering – it could be a hidden gem or just needs a bit more time to shine. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out, with that community spirit that's hard to beat, but keep those food expectations in check for now.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, with the landlady Kerry leading the way to make you feel right at home.
  • It's got a fantastic atmosphere, especially on weekends with live music, DJs, and fun events that really bring the community together.
  • The drinks are spot on – folks rave about the Guinness and the great selection overall, making it a top spot for a proper pint.
  • The pub is always immaculately clean, which adds to that cosy, comfortable feel when you're settling in for a chat.
Cons
  • Not many people have shared thoughts on the food, so it might be worth checking out first before diving in, as we haven't heard much either way.
  • With it being unclaimed online, things like updates or responses to queries might not be as prompt, but that hasn't seemed to bother most visitors.

Nice clean pub, bar staff are helpful and they have good event weekends. Not eaten there so can not comment on the food.

I spent over 20 years managing Pubs, I'm now a truck driver passing through. Called in the pub for a couple. Because I worked in the Industry for so long I tend be over critical. However I couldn't find fault here. Spotlessly clean and the beer was great. A proper pub.
