Really nice pub decor good condition but shame about the bouncers, seem to be aggressive unless you’re in a family unit and have seen them trying to provoke people for some reason (your safe if your in a family unit), lucky enough never seen anyone rise to them.
Most unwelcoming pub I've been in with two bouncers at the front searching everyone as if they was getting on a plane. Rough.

Really thought the pub being taken over would bring some new life to this place. It seemed to start off well, but unfortunately it has gone back to how it used to be. Came into today to watch the rugby, to find a couple of people in there & even worse 1 person slumped over the bar half asleep. Not what you expect on a busy Saturday afternoon of sport on pay day weekend! Walked in 1 door and straight out the other to find a pub with a bit of atmosphere & no one passed out at the bar!
At last a pub in Wickford! If you have visited before the new owners, please try again the difference is enormous. Friendly staff, fast service. Only negative for me is the beer selection could be better. We now have a pub and a tap room 2 places to drink, yes we only have 2 places where you would want to drink!
