About This Pub
Oh, Quart Pot is one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Wickford – you know, the kind where you can settle in for a pint of cask ale or one of their fabulous cocktails and really unwind. From what I've gathered from folks' chats, the food is a real highlight; whether it's the hearty Sunday roast or their award-winning dishes, it's all about fresh, tasty meals that leave you satisfied. The staff are an absolute delight, always ready with a smile and quick to sort you out, making it easy to celebrate special occasions or just enjoy a quiet evening. It's super family-oriented too, with options for kids and even space in the beer garden for games and fresh air, which is brilliant if you're out with the little ones or your dog. On the flip side, if you're vegan, you might find the choices a tad slim, and it can vary a bit depending on the crowd or what you're in the mood for, so it's worth keeping that in mind. All in all, it's a solid spot for a good time, with that warm, welcoming feel that makes you want to come back for more – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food here is absolutely spot on – think delicious pub grub, Sunday roasts, and even special treats like Pimm’s Afternoon Tea that really hit the spot for a relaxed meal.
-
Service is top-notch; the staff are friendly, attentive, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, whether you're celebrating a birthday or just popping in for a drink.
-
It's a proper family-friendly spot with a welcoming vibe, plenty of space for kids, and even a beer garden that's perfect for sunny days or summer events.
-
They've got a great atmosphere, especially with things like quiz nights and weekly events that make it feel lively without being overwhelming.
-
Being dog-friendly and having outdoor areas adds a nice touch for those who want to bring their furry friends along.
Cons
-
Vegan options on the menu are a bit limited, which might disappoint if you're after more plant-based choices.
-
It can be a mixed bag at times, like with varying experiences depending on what you're after, so it might not suit everyone perfectly.

A group of us came for the quiz night. My friend & I had the sausage & mash. Was absolutely delicious!
Great service & brilliant atmosphere
Will be back
We had a wonderful Christmas Day lunch at the Quart Pot, the food was great, the atmosphere was festive and calm, and the staff were fantastic throughout!
Five of us came for dinner and it was a bit of a mixed bag although mostly good. All the staff were really lovely and very helpful and all our meals were very tasty well cooked and presented, overall we quite liked this pub. The downside was that the vegan options on the menu were pretty limited & of the non-vegan options at least three were unavailable, two of which were my top two choices. Perhaps we will give this place another go and hope that the shortage of meals available was a one off.
My husband and I enjoyed a child free night at the quart pot. Delicious food and the staff were all friendly. We have also visited with our 2 boys as well and they were so accommodating. We will certainly return when we can.
