About This Pub
Ah, The Posh Boys Bar, what a gem in Wickford! I've got to say, it's one of those places that just hits the spot for a good old get-together. Run by the lovely Danielle and Vince since late last year, they've turned it into this cosy haven where you can kick back with a pint of their excellent local brews or try out some craft spirits. The live music on Fridays is always a highlight – it's got that feel-good energy that gets everyone chatting and tapping their feet. And don't miss the quiz nights or karaoke; they're a laugh and a half, especially with prizes up for grabs. The food's a nice touch too, with those new small plates ideal for sharing over a drink. On the flip side, though, the hours can be a tad unpredictable, and it might feel a bit snug when it's buzzing, so it's worth checking ahead if you're planning a bigger group do. Overall, it's a solid choice for anyone in the area looking for a friendly spot to unwind – the positive buzz from folks who've been there really shines through, and I'd happily recommend it for a top evening out.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of locally brewed beers, craft spirits, and premium wines, all at reasonable prices.
-
Live music every Friday night is an absolute treat – it's lively and creates a brilliant atmosphere for a night out.
-
Regular events like quiz nights on Thursdays and karaoke with fun prizes keep things exciting and give you plenty of reasons to return.
-
The new food menu of small plates is spot on for sharing with mates, and it's available from Tuesday to Thursday evenings.
-
It's conveniently located near the train station and bus routes, making it easy to pop in after work or a day out.
Cons
-
The bar seems to have inconsistent operating hours, with some days closing earlier than you'd expect, which might disrupt plans for a late one.
-
As a smaller venue, it can get quite cosy during busy events, so if you're after a quiet spot, it might feel a bit packed at times.
-
While the food menu is new and promising, it's only on offer a few evenings a week, so options are limited if you're there at other times.

This is a really good pub/bar. The drinks are always very tasty, and there's a decent selection. Everybody that works here is very friendly, and every time I come here there's a welcoming vibe. If you want a drink in Wickford, this is my top recommendation.
