About This Pub

Ah, The White Hart – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a second home, you know? From what I've gathered from folks' chats and reviews, it's got this lovely traditional feel with staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome, serving up hearty, well-cooked food that's both tasty and great value. I love how they've got a nice garden area that catches the sun late into the evening, and it's super dog-friendly, which is brilliant if you're out for a walk and fancy a pit stop. The menu's got plenty of options, from daily specials to deals like the 2 for £14 on Mondays and Tuesdays, so it's perfect for a casual night out without breaking the bank. On the flip side, it does get packed sometimes, so planning ahead is a must, and there've been a couple of tales of less than stellar service, like feeling pushed to certain areas or confusion over rules, which is a shame because it might put some off. Overall, though, it's a solid spot for a pint and a bite, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the Northampton area – just go with an open mind and you'll likely have a cracking time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • The food is top-notch – think delicious, home-cooked meals with a great variety on the menu, and it's all well-priced too.
  • It's got that classic village pub charm with plenty of history, a cosy atmosphere, and even a nice garden that's perfect for sunny evenings.
  • Dog-friendly vibes all around, with outdoor areas where you can bring your furry friends along.
  • Ample parking and a relaxed setting make it easy to pop in, whether you're after a quick drink or a full meal.
Cons
  • It can get quite busy, especially on weeknights, so you might need to book ahead to avoid waiting around.
  • There have been a few grumbles about unfriendliness in some instances, like issues with seating or policies that might not suit everyone.
  • The outdoor areas are great, but if the weather turns, you could miss out on that al fresco experience.

Always a friendly atmosphere and good, honest pub food at a reasonable price. This is what a village pub should be like. A varied menu and a warm welcome. All the staff are very friendly, the food is always very hot and well presented. The landlord and landlady are very hands on in running this place and it shows!

Great village pub. Really friendly and polite staff. Dating back to 1700's the place has oodles of charm and history, with inglenook fire place and style too. The top bar is dog friendly, as is the beer garden to the rear. Food is very good, well priced and varied too. I ate the Cumberland Tub from the main menu, and it's huge, and very tasty too. You won't be disappointed 👍 Great atmosphere in an historic inn. Loads of beers and ales to choose from Highly recommended and we will definitely be back again. Plenty of parking space as well. Thanks to the whole team at the pub. Great place 😁

Loved it, great vibe, food and service. Hadn't been here for a while but will be back. Homely village pub. 4 mains, 4 desserts and 7 drinks for less that £30 a head. Great choice, value and quality.

Unfriendly. We were asked to sit in the back room, aka “the sports bar” That was the first thing the bar staff said to us on arrival. We arrived at the front door to see a placard ,it says “no dogs”, so we went to the left side of the building thinking this was the way into the garden and a lady told us to go round to the car park, which is on the right side of the building, up the hill, which isn’t clear at all there’s no signage to tell you. We walked into the bar via the main door as we didn’t know how to get into the “dog entrance” Immediately a local customer said to his friend “it’s says no dogs” Not very welcoming at all. We won’t be returning to here. Much rather go to the cherry tree around the corner. The staff are a different league. On the plus side, the food was good value. And the lovely lady who made it, and made a fuss of our dogs..should be the welcoming committee… she was engaging and professional. Doesn’t get the buddy seal of approval. Definitely not a rovers return Not recommended. Nice village. Just of off the a428 Not impressed at all.
