About This Pub
Ah, The Road To Morocco – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this warm, inviting vibe that's perfect for catching up with friends over a pint. The staff really shine here; they're helpful and make you feel like part of the furniture, which is always a plus on a quiet evening. I love that they've got a mix of areas – one side's all about that cosy, traditional pub feel for a chat and a quiz night, while the other caters to sports fans with big screens and a billiards table. It's got a solid 4.4 rating, which speaks to how much people enjoy the beers and the overall friendliness. On the flip side, it's a shame there's no food on offer, so if you're planning a proper night out, you might need to sort out some takeaways or head elsewhere for a bite. And being in a tucked-away spot in Northampton, it could feel a tad isolated if you're not local, but that's part of its charm for a low-key meet-up. All in all, it's a brilliant spot for a relaxed drink and some laughs, but keep those expectations realistic if you're after more than just pints and pool.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
They've got a solid selection of beers on tap, perfect for a relaxing pint with mates.
-
It's got that cosy, community vibe with a pub quiz on most Tuesday evenings – always a fun way to spend the night.
-
The pub has two distinct sides: one that's traditional and relaxing, and the other that's great for watching sports on big screens or having a game of billiards.
-
It's a safe spot with a lovely atmosphere, ideal for unwinding without any hassle.
Cons
-
There's no food served on site, so you might have to bring in a takeaway if you're peckish, which isn't ideal for everyone.
-
Being tucked away in a quiet residential area, it can feel a bit out of the way and might not be the easiest to find if you're new to the neighbourhood.
-
As an estate pub, it has a straightforward, no-frills feel that might not appeal if you're after something more upscale or fancy.

It's an estate pub but more character than most. Good beers & staff. No food I know of though I believe some people bring in take aways.
Friendly team based pub quiz most Tuesday evenings.
Very pleasant, cosy, and relaxing on one side and sporty on the other side of the pub. Separated so not disturbing. Helpful friendly staff. Nice clean local area.
Great pub. Lovely staff. Good vibes. Very friendly. Lovely atmosphere. Never any trouble. Safe place to drink
"Secret" location in the quiet residential area. There are two rooms. Good place to watch sports on big TV screens. Also billiard table is available.
A great little community pub, in the heart of Abington Vale. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly.
The pub is a pub of two halves. On one side you have a more traditional style pub, with classic decor. Whilst on the other side, it has a newer more modern feel, with a pool table (still 50p a frame), dart board and jukebox. Both sides of the pub have TVs and show major sporting events as well as the football across Sky and BT Sport. They have an outdoor seating area for the warmer months and it’s wheelchair accessible.
The pub doesn’t serve food, just the usual pub and bar snacks (crisps, nuts, pork scratchings). Wide range of drinks including 4 guest ales that the landlord changes on a regular basis.
A great little pub and one worth checking out if you live in the area or are just passing through.
