About This Pub

So, chatting about The White Hart in Bristol, it's got that classic pub appeal that's hard to resist – think a buzzing atmosphere that's clean and full of positive energy, making it a great spot for a casual get-together. The home-cooked food can be a real highlight when it's spot on, and the staff and management often come across as genuinely welcoming and polite, which adds to the warmth. Plus, being right by the bus station means it's super convenient for a quick pint or watching some footy on Sky. On the downside, though, there have been a few grumbles about meals arriving cold or just not tasting right, and some experiences with staff being a bit offhand or too busy with their own thing, like leaving tables messy or not addressing issues properly. It's a bit of a mixed bag overall, but if you're after a laid-back spot with potential for a good time, it's worth popping in – just keep in mind it might not be perfect every visit, and maybe skip the food if you're feeling picky.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant – it's full of positive energy and feels like a welcoming spot to unwind.
  • It's spotlessly clean, which is a real treat, especially for a pub that's been around for ages.
  • The food is home-cooked and can be delicious when it's on form, adding a nice homely touch to your visit.
  • The staff and new management are lovely, always polite and welcoming, making you feel right at home.
  • It's in a dead handy location next to the bus station, with decent pints and Sky sports on offer for a relaxed catch-up.
Cons
  • Some meals have been disappointing, like turning up cold and not up to scratch, which puts a damper on things.
  • Staff can be a bit rude or distracted at times, such as playing cards instead of sorting out tables or issues.
  • Tables often go uncleared, and there might be a mess with glasses piling up, which isn't the best first impression.
  • Responses to complaints can feel unhelpful, like just brushing off concerns without much effort to fix it.
