About This Pub
Ah, the Bay Horse in Bristol – what a gem for a casual get-together or just popping in for a drink. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff really shine; they're attentive and make you feel like you're among friends, always ready with a smile and helpful advice on the best deals. The drinks selection is spot on, with everything from fresh real ales to chilled lagers that hit the spot after a wander around town. It's got that historic charm dating back to 1870, and being family and dog-friendly means it's versatile for different outings, whether you're watching the big match on Sky Sports or relaxing in the beer garden on a sunny day. The food's generally well-received too, with hearty options that pair nicely with a pint. On the flip side, though, the menu doesn't offer a huge range, so if you're in the mood for something a bit more adventurous, you might end up feeling a tad underwhelmed. It's part of the Greene King chain, which gives it a reliable, familiar vibe but perhaps lacks that one-of-a-kind edge some places have. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, especially for sports events, but keep expectations realistic for the food variety.
Pros and Cons

-
They've got a great selection of beers and drinks, including real ales and ice-cold lagers, perfect for unwinding after a long day.
-
It's a historic pub with a warm, family-friendly atmosphere, plus it's dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along.
-
Ideal for sports fans with live screenings of football, rugby, and more, plus a cosy beer garden for enjoying the outdoors.
-
The food is solid and tasty, with options that go down a treat, especially if you're after a quick bite in a lively setting.
Cons
-
The menu could do with a bit more variety; it's decent, but some folks might find themselves wanting more choices to suit different tastes.
-
Being a Greene King pub, it has that chain feel in places, which might not appeal if you're after something super unique or quirky.
-
Opening hours are fairly standard, but if you're out late, you might miss out as things wind down earlier on some days.

My trip to the Bay Horse was very special. Food was brilliant, I was served a Birra Moretti which went down a treat. Staff are really welcoming, Olivia madr us feel right at home. Will definitely be coming back!!
Super nice bar with great staff. Good for real ales and lagers. It's a green king pub.
Very nicely decorated with excellent customer service from Alice and Henry.
The Bira Moretti was ice cold and fresh.
I would have stayed longer, but I had a coach to get.
I'll pop in and try the food next time.
