About This Pub

Ah, The Weavers – what a gem it's turned out to be after that thorough refurbishment of a 250-year-old building. From what I've heard from folks who've popped in, the food really steals the show; think seasonal menus with locally sourced goodies that result in dishes like stunning Sunday roasts or perfectly cooked steaks and pies – it's all about quality and flavour that leaves you wanting more. The atmosphere is just right too, not overly posh but still feels special, making it ideal for everything from a quiet drink to celebrating with a group. And the service? Well, it's spot on, with staff who go the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly. On the flip side, it's so popular that you might find yourself needing to plan ahead to get a spot, especially on busier evenings, and the on-street parking can be a touch inconvenient if you're driving. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone after a relaxed gastro pub experience in Ossett – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, but maybe check those opening times first to make the most of it.

Pros and Cons

  • Parking is limited to on-street options, which might be a bit of a faff in a lively area like Ossett.

What an amazing Sunday Roast! We visited for my uncle’s birthday and the service from start to finish was absolutely brilliant. The decor and atmosphere are of such a high standard without feeling snooty or pretentious. The food was incredibly tasty — definitely not your basic Sunday lunch! There was a minor error with the kids' meals, but the staff handled it so well, kindly taking them off the bill and even offering free puddings, which was a lovely touch. We’ll definitely be coming back — it’s honestly one of the best Sunday lunches in the area! If I had to suggest anything, it would be to add stuffing with the chicken and maybe a dollop of mash or sweet potato mash — that would make it absolutely perfect.

Both the service and food here was absolutely amazing. I had the king prawns for starters and the pie of the day for main, both were absolutely beautiful. My partner had fishcakes for starters and Tuscan chicken for main and again, it was lovely. The staff were amazing too!
