About This Pub
Ah, The Horse & Jockey – it's one of those cosy spots in Horbury that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the staff are generally spot on, always up for a laugh and making sure you're looked after, which really makes the place feel inviting. The beer garden stands out as a favourite; imagine sitting out there with a pint, soaking up the sun and maybe catching a bit of cricket – it's just brilliant for a relaxed get-together. And don't miss the live music; it's a proper treat on weekends, getting everyone in the mood for a good singalong or a dance. The food's another winner – hearty portions at fair prices, so you won't leave hungry. But, to be fair, it's not all perfect; there've been a few tales of service not quite hitting the mark, like when someone couldn't get the TVs sorted for a big match, and it left a bit of a sour note. Still, with so many folks raving about it overall, I'd say it's worth popping in for a pint and seeing for yourself – just keep an eye out for those off days, and you'll likely have a cracking time.

Not sure who this is Sky sports pub as the landlady didn’t know how to turn any of the TVs on and didn’t know football is on. She also had an attitude. We won’t be coming here again.
This place we visited last Sunday. We were told every Sunday through the summer, this pub has live music (4pm) and a Spud Van (possible external catering) sat outside while you bask in the sunshine in the beer garden.
The food served here was that nice. I actually went for seconds, I tried the chicken tikka, and the chicken curry loaded fries (See Photos)
This place has a sports area with a pool table in, a separate room if you prefer a quieter environment and a very big beer garden with a stage for those that prefer that entertainment.
It's clean and plenty of spaces to take a pew. Child and Dog friendly there were plenty of families and dog walkers here, so if you're out for a walk and passing by over the weekend and the sun is shining, I'd recommend popping in here for a Pitt stop.
Very nice beer garden take out cups very sturdy staff friendly looks onto cricket ground group was fantastic they had on .
the loos are very clean too result
Nice local pub, with live music on Saturday nights. Great atmosphere, good prices and beers, and right next to the cricket ground if you want to spend a pleasant afternoon in the sun
Staff were very attentive, they couldn’t do enough for you, the chef came and had a natter to us and to make sure everything was okay. Food is reasonably priced and decent portions too, we had the mixed chicken tikka on a bed of salad starter with mint yogurt sauce and it was beautiful, for the main I had the shin of beef with melted blue Stilton (also came with veg, Yorkshire pud and gravy) and it was stunning. My girlfriend had the slow roasted belly pork which also came with all the trimmings and it was lovely. Would definitely recommend this place but you have to book in advance as the restaurant is quite small. (Photos below)
