About This Pub

Ah, The Waterloo – it's one of those unpretentious pubs that just draws you in with its warm, down-to-earth charm. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by friendly faces and a clean, cosy space that's perfect for unwinding after a long day. The drinks are reasonably priced, especially the beer, so you can enjoy a pint or two without worrying about the tab, and there's always something going on to liven things up, like a game of pool, a singalong with karaoke, or catching the match on the big screens. It's brilliant for meeting up with mates or joining in on quiz nights; the atmosphere really buzzes, especially on busier evenings. On the downside, though, that pool table charges £1 per game, which might add up if you're keen on a few rounds, and if you're there for the football, you might find the sound turned down in favour of the jukebox, which can put a damper on things. Plus, it's not the place to go if you're hoping for a hearty meal, as options seem limited. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed night out, but it's worth knowing the quirks to make the most of it – I'd say give it a try if you're in the area, as the good bits far outweigh the minor gripes.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Friendly staff who make you feel right at home, always up for a chat and quick with service
  • Affordable drinks, especially the beer, which won't dent your wallet on a night out
  • A great range of entertainment like pool, darts, karaoke, and even quiz nights to keep things lively
  • Clean and welcoming atmosphere, with big TVs perfect for catching the football
  • A cosy spot for groups, with a good vibe that's ideal for socialising and having a laugh
Cons
  • Pool games come at £1 a go, which can feel a tad steep if you're planning a long session
  • Watching the footie might mean no sound if the jukebox is blasting, which can be a bit frustrating
  • Not much on the food front, so you might need to pop elsewhere if you're after a proper meal
  • The opening hours listed seem a bit muddled, making it tricky to plan your visit

Lovely evening in a busy bar with lots going on. Music, Karaoke, darts, pool and a friendly social scene with a mixed crowd of all ages. My friend and I were made to feel very welcome and I look forward to returning...
