About This Pub
Ah, The Kings – it's one of those pubs that really grows on you if you're after a no-fuss night out without breaking the bank. I have to say, the staff stand out as absolute gems; they're so helpful and make you feel safe and looked after, which is just what you want after a long week. The drinks prices are a highlight too – grabbing a pint or a strong cocktail for a steal feels like a proper win, and the outdoor space is spot on for a bit of fresh air and good craic with mates. They've done a nice job with the renovations, blending that modern touch with the traditional pub feel, and it's brilliant for sports fans with all those screens. On the flip side, though, it can sometimes come across as a bit cliquey, like the regulars have their own little world, which might leave newcomers feeling a tad out of place. Plus, it's not always the cleanest, and the beer selection is on the slim side, so if you're picky about your brew, you might want to look elsewhere. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening if you go in with the right expectations – affordable fun with a warm heart, but not without its quirks.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff, especially the bouncers like Richard, are incredibly helpful and kind, making you feel right at home.
-
Drinks are a real bargain – pints and cocktails are super cheap, with some as low as £2-4, which is brilliant in today's economy.
-
The outdoor area is lovely for a relaxed chat or a quick pint on a nice day.
-
It's got a welcoming atmosphere with friendly locals who are chatty and create a great vibe, plus it's been spruced up to feel modern and trendy while keeping that classic pub charm.
-
Plenty of screens for catching the latest sports, which is perfect if you're into that.
-
The toilets are kept clean, which is always a plus when you're out for the evening.
Cons
-
It can feel a bit cliquey at times, like you're stepping into a group that's already sorted, which might put some folks off.
-
The place can be a tad grimy in spots, so it's not always the tidiest spot for a night out.
-
The range of beers and ales is a bit limited, so if you're after something specific, you might be disappointed.
-
Some drinks are pricier than you'd expect compared to the local average, so you'll need to pick your poisons wisely to keep costs down.

Bouncers were so helpful and kind. Richard especially. Never felt worries. Pints and drinks so cheap and toilets clean. Great work! Thanks 🙏
Looks a good pub until you go in, very cliquey it seemed. Not the best atmosphere. Not for me
Can be a bit grimy and some drinks are more expensive than the local average , but the cocktails are insanely cheap and very strong .
Very good value for money if you choose your drinks wisely and the outdoor area is very nice .
Ok pub for a night out. Affordable prices (Guinness £3.55). The range of beers and ales a bit limited.
Great pub, local people are friendly and chatty which makes a great atmosphere! It has been recently renovated and looks very modern and trendy, with the traditional pub feel. Plenty of screens to watch sports too.
Pints are anywhere from £2-4 which is a bargain in the current economy!! There’s also a cocktail/spirits menu which has a good variety.
There’s an 80s pub quiz in the week and a disco/karaoke on the weekends - great fun!!
