About This Pub

Ah, The Village – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Birmingham, you know? From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, the staff really go the extra mile; they're polite, on point, and make you feel right at home, whether it's accommodating allergies or handling a big family meal without a hitch. The food's another winner – imagine tucking into a hearty Sunday roast or a scrumptious dessert, all served up quickly and tasting spot on. The atmosphere is spotlessly clean and cosy, with those inviting booths that make it perfect for a chat over drinks. On the flip side, it can get a tad chaotic with larger crowds, like when a meal goes astray, though they sort it out pronto. And while the website's straightforward, it doesn't offer much beyond basics, so you might have to ring up for details. All in all, it's a solid spot for a pint and a bite, but keep in mind food service ends a bit early if you're planning a late one. I'd say it's worth a visit for anyone after a welcoming pub experience with a bit of heart.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always polite, attentive, and quick to sort out any special requests, like handling allergies with real care.
  • The food is a real highlight; think delicious Sunday roasts, tasty desserts like biscoff cheesecake, and meals that come out promptly, especially for larger groups.
  • It's got a lovely, welcoming atmosphere with cosy booths and a clean, posh feel that makes you want to linger over a pint or a meal.
  • They handle big bookings smoothly, which is great if you're planning a family gathering or a special occasion.
  • Plenty of options for events and even on-site parking, which is handy for popping in without the hassle.
Cons
  • There might be the odd slip-up with food service in larger groups, like a meal going missing, though they do fix it quickly.
  • The website's a bit basic and doesn't give much detail beyond contact info, so you might need to call ahead for more specifics.
  • Food service wraps up fairly early, around 9pm most days, which could be a shame if you're after a late-night bite.

We ate here as part of a big family meal. The staff were super attentive and service was fantastic. We pre-ordered our food, which came out very quickly and all together and was brilliant! Will definitely be back ☺️

Booked a large party for a special occasion and was very happy. Booked for 23 people. Venue asked if we would provide our meal choice in advance which we did. This resulted in smooth service of the meals which arrived promptly (we only lost one and this was quickly sorted). Food was good, atmosphere excellent and servers in the restaurant and bar were lovely. I'll visit again😊

We had a lovely Sunday Roast today at The Village. The pub is beautifully decorated and it provides table service. We sat in a cosy booth where we enjoyed our meals. For dessert we had a really tasty biscoff cheesecake with honeycomb ice-cream and our daughter had chocolate tart. We are definitely coming back to ‘The Village’ and we’d suggest you give it a try too!

Will be back! Amazing roast and dessert! First time visiting here and wow what a place, lovely and clean with a posh appearance without the high price's, the staff were all welcoming and friendly. We came as part of a large book group and there were no issues with the food. The roast chicken was one of the best I've had and the sticky Toffee to follow. With free parking (entering your reg inside). Will definitely be back soon to try something else or just the roast again.
