About This Pub

Ah, The Patrick Kavanagh – it's one of those Birmingham pubs that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From the moment you walk in, the staff greet you with that warm, chatty energy that makes you want to settle in for the evening. They've nailed the drinks menu, offering everything from exciting real ales to a solid selection of wines and even low or no-alcohol options, so there's something for everyone whether you're out for a quiet pint or mixing it up with cocktails. I love how they keep things lively with live sports on the big screen and regular events like music nights – it's spot on if you're up for a bit of atmosphere without the hassle. And don't forget the dog-friendly beer garden; it's a lovely spot for a summer drink. On the downside, the prices do seem a touch high for the area, which might make you think twice if you're watching the pennies, and it's a shame they don't have food available, as that could really round out the experience. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed night out with friends, but it might not wow you if you're after something more extraordinary – still, I'd say it's worth giving it a go for that genuine pub feel.

Cons

Awesome place, rare amongst pubs nowadays.

I’ve always liked coming in here over the years when in the area but not today. It’s just your average pub, nothing special so no idea what’s going on with prices, not too dissimilar from other pubs in Moseley, this isn’t London but we’re paying the same? At least other pubs can justify prices selling good quality independent brewery beers but charging £5.65 for a can of 0% Guinness is just not on.

Great pub in Moseley. Staff are lovely, friendly and chatty. Had the Rhubarb and Ginger Gin. They do not serve serve food here, but one of the staff mentioned that we could bring food in from another venue and eat it there which I thought was a brilliant idea.
