About This Pub
Oh, you know, I had a lovely time at The Turtles Head the other week – it's one of those hidden gems in Aldridge that really captures the essence of a traditional pub without all the corporate fluff. The ales are spot on, with a great variety that had me coming back for another round, and the atmosphere is just so welcoming; it's like stepping into a mate's living room where everyone's up for a chat and a laugh. I appreciate how they make it easy for families or dog owners to join in, and that BYO food policy is a clever little perk if you're not in the mood for what's on offer. On the flip side, it's a small place, so it does fill up quickly and you might end up jostling for space on busier evenings, and the food is pretty straightforward – think simple cobs and snacks rather than anything fancy. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint and some good company, but it's worth keeping in mind if you're after something a bit more spacious or with a wider menu.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The selection of ales is absolutely brilliant, with a proper range that keeps things interesting for any beer enthusiast
-
It's got such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where you can enjoy a bit of banter and feel right at home
-
Being dog and child-friendly makes it a versatile spot, perfect for popping in with the family or your four-legged mate
-
You can bring your own food as long as you grab a drink, which adds a nice flexible touch to the experience
-
The homely surroundings with comfy seating, like leather armchairs, make it feel cosy and inviting for a relaxed chat
Cons
-
It's a micropub, so space is a bit limited and it can get quite snug when it's busy, which might not suit everyone
-
Food options are fairly basic, mostly just cobs and pub snacks, so if you're after a full meal, you might need to bring your own
-
With it being closed one day a week, it could be a tad inconvenient if you're planning a visit on that day without checking first

love this place, it is what it is, small friendly and serves great ales.
can't comment on the food but the cobs look banging that they sell
Popped in after a walk in the local area. A huge pot of tea and a full cafetiere pot of coffee, served with biscuits and a smile. Lovely place, we sat on leather armchairs and enjoyed the company of the locals.
Still a warm jovial atmosphere, even though I moved away a couple of years ago. Had a refurb, now home to Aldridge British Legion branch. Miss the social atmosphere.
A Fantastic Micro pub, always friendly staff and customers welcoming all. The only lager this place does is Amstel! At least four other ales on tap! A proper pub with great ambience and fantastic scratchings and a great range of cobs! Ciders, wine and gin is also available. You can bring your own food too! That and it’s dog friendly! Cheap as chips and proper. Just how I like it!
