About This Pub
Ah, the Red Lion – it's one of those classic pubs that just feels like a cosy corner of the neighbourhood, you know? From the reviews, it's clear folks really appreciate the warm, chatty atmosphere; the staff sound like absolute gems, and the locals make it a proper community spot. I reckon it's spot on for kicking back with a pint of Guinness or whatever takes your fancy, especially if you're after that traditional boozer vibe without kids running about – though they're allowed, it's more of a grown-ups' haven. The prices are dead reasonable too, so you won't feel like you're splashing out just for a night in. On the flip side, it's not without its quirks; a few mentions suggest it needs a bit of elbow grease to smarten things up, and with only basic snacks on offer, you might want to grab a bite elsewhere first. Still, if you're in Walsall and fancy a straightforward, affordable pint in a friendly setting, it's worth popping in – just keep in mind it might not be the most buzzing place these days, given the lack of fresh chatter online. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening, with the good bits outweighing the rough edges if you ask me.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff and regulars are incredibly friendly, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
It's a proper old-school pub with a relaxed vibe, perfect for enjoying a pint or two without any fuss.
-
Prices are spot on for a good night out – inexpensive and won't break the bank.
-
They've got a decent selection of beers, lagers, and ciders on tap, plus a bit of wine if that's your thing.
Cons
-
It seems like the place could do with a bit of TLC; from what I've heard, it needs some love and attention to freshen it up.
-
Food options are pretty basic – just bar snacks like crisps or nuts, so it's not the spot if you're after a proper meal.
-
There aren't many recent reviews, which might mean it's a bit quiet these days, or perhaps it's flown under the radar.

No website or online presence makes it trickier to get the latest info before heading over.

The pub needs love and attention but has been given a chance to thrive now as the landlord is a special bloke with a kind heart who will make it work, we are all behind you Ben take care.
I love it here, everybody is so friendly it's a great place to enjoy a drink. I know il have a cracking time here. Plus it's close to home 😁😁
Great little place to enjoy a pint or two...or whatever takes your fancy ..
Friendly atmosphere and basically, just a good old fashioned drinking pub ..
No restaurant, just bar snacks .. best of all .. no children running around annoying customers. Just to add .. children are allowed, but not in the bar area..😉
Popped in there with the Father in law for a cheeky couple. All blokes in there seemed to be lots of card players. Nice pint of Guinness. Friendly enough crowd. Woman runs it, (Grace maybe). Nice woman.
This is definitely a blokes pub, a good old-fashioned boozer no food on offer except crisps chocolate nuts & maybe cobs if your really lucky, a decent assortment of beers, lagers & cider all on tap or bottled, wine is also available they have a beer garden of sorts out the back with seating available but no garden it's more of a local's pub no airs & graces about it everyone is made welcome arrive a stranger & leave as a friend
