About This Pub
Ah, The Turnstone – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Hopton, Great Yarmouth. I have to say, the first thing that strikes you is the welcoming atmosphere; it's got that homely vibe where you can kick back with a drink and chat away without any fuss. They've nailed the drinks menu, offering everything from classic ales and ciders to a good range of wines and beers, including thoughtful choices like gluten-free and alcohol-free options, which is brilliant if you're driving or watching your intake. The staff are an absolute delight, always ready with a smile and a helpful suggestion, making every visit feel personal and enjoyable. Plus, its spot near the holiday park and beaches is spot on for a post-walk pint. On the flip side, it's a bit of a letdown that they're not doing food right now – several folks have popped in hoping for a meal and ended up disappointed, though they do point you to their sister pub for that. And it can be quiet sometimes, which is nice for a peaceful evening but might not suit if you're in the mood for a bit more energy. All in all, it's a solid spot for drinks and a catch-up, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're in the area, just keep in mind it shines brightest with the right expectations.

They're not serving food at the moment, which is a real pity as it means you might have to head elsewhere for a bite to eat after your drinks.

It was very quiet but very friendly
We only had drink as they were not doing food at the time
First visit as near where we stayed. Good selection of drinks, sadly no food. Lovely lady behind the bar advised the sister pub 'White Hart' up the road do food. Nice vibe, friendly service. Will definitely be back.
Just had 2 weeks holiday at hopton holiday village went to the club house on the first day nice but far too expensive went to the Turnstone 13 times at least £1 to £1.50 a pint cheaper 6 pints a day 2 weeks plus the wife's savid a few quid we where on holiday not won the lottery OAPs good holiday 🍺🍺🍺👍
Nice pub very nice bar maid or landlady if she was, disappointed they had stopped doing food as they did not have a chef and wouldn't be getting one as it's the end of the season, which I can understand.
