About This Pub

So, I've been having a look at Coast Bar & Restaurant down in Corton, Lowestoft, and it's got that warm, welcoming feel you'd hope for in a local spot. Everyone's raving about the food – think massive portions of fish and chips that's crunchy on the outside and juicy inside, or a cracking full English breakfast that's fresh and cooked just right, all at a price that won't break the bank. The staff really make the place shine, always cheerful and making sure you have a great time, which adds to the relaxed atmosphere that's ideal for a casual meal or even a short stay with their clean, comfy rooms. It's open seven days a week from 9am to 11pm, which is handy if you're planning a day out. On the flip side, it's not exactly buzzing with reviews – only 25 in total – so it might not be the first place that comes to mind, and without a website, it's a bit of a faff to get more details online. Still, if you're in the area and after honest, hearty grub without the crowds, I'd say give it a go; it's got that genuine charm that makes for a memorable visit.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely brilliant – from yummy fish and chips with huge, juicy flakes and crispy batter, to a massive full English breakfast that's cooked to perfection and great value at around £8 plus drinks.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • It's got a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, perfect for a chilled-out meal or a weekend away, with clean and comfy rooms if you're staying over.
  • Open every day from 9am to 11pm, so it's reliable for a bite whenever you fancy, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Cons
  • With only 25 reviews in total, it doesn't seem to have built up a huge following yet, so it might feel a bit under the radar compared to busier spots.
  • No website listed means it's trickier to check the menu or book ahead online – you'd probably have to just pop in or call.

We had a lovely fish & Chip lunch on Friday. The fish was amazing. Huge white chunky flakes. Lovely crispy batter. Chips & mushy peas. Staff always friendly. Make you feel really welcome.

We weren't expecting to find such good food in a holiday resort, but full marks to Coast. Breakfast was excellent: a huge full English, or avocado toast with real avocado (not out of a tube!). Eggs Royale was also just right. All cooked to order. Excellent value too at £8 + drinks, considering the quality provided. Combined with friendly service and a sea view, what more could you want?

Very nice place and very good food. I'm not a fish and chips fan but their fish stole my heart. It was amazingly crunchy and juicy inside a huge piece of fish 🙂🙂 Good place to stay and eat in Corton
