About This Pub

Ah, The Trader Jacks – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a hidden gem in Chorley, with its open fire and welcoming staff making every visit feel genuinely cosy and inviting. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's spot on for a relaxed afternoon in the beer garden, especially when the town's buzzing and you fancy a quieter spot with affordable drinks like that tasty cider. The team there really go the extra mile to make you feel at home, whether it's for New Year's Eve celebrations or just catching up with mates over a pint. That said, it's not all perfect; a couple of recent comments hint that it might not always hit the mark, perhaps needing a bit of TLC to shine even brighter, but overall, with a solid 4.1 rating, it's still a great choice for anyone looking for a straightforward, enjoyable night out without breaking the bank.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is spot on with a lovely traditional feel, complete with an open fire that makes you feel right at home on a chilly evening.
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant, always welcoming and friendly, which really adds to the overall vibe – it's like popping round to a mate's house.
  • They've got a cracking beer garden that's often quieter than the rest of the town, perfect for a relaxed pint, and the drinks are reasonably priced, like that £4 mango lily's cider.
  • It's a top spot for watching sports or enjoying special occasions, with a good atmosphere that keeps things lively without being overwhelming.
Cons
  • There are a few mixed feelings lately, with some recent reviews suggesting it could do with a bit more polish to live up to its potential.
  • Without a website, it's a tad tricky to get the latest info or check out menus in advance, which might put off some folks planning a visit.

Really lovely beer garden that was much quieter than everywhere else in town on a really busy day which was nice. Staff were friendly, drinks were affordable (£4 for a pint of mango lily's cider)
