About This Pub

You know, when I think about Sun & Salt, it's one of those places that just lifts your spirits the moment you walk in – the scents of incense and fresh coffee hit you first, and it's all about that relaxed, welcoming feel that makes it stand out in Chorley. The food is a highlight; their mezze-style plates are packed with flavour, locally sourced, and paired beautifully with things like orange wine or a cold beer, making it ideal for sharing over a chat. The staff are genuinely lovely, always ready with a smile and quick to sort you out, which adds to the homely vibe. It's reasonably priced too, so you can enjoy a full meal or just a drink without worrying about the bill. On the flip side, it's a shame it's only open four days a week, as that might cramp your plans if you're spontaneous like me, and evenings end a bit early, so it's not the spot for a late-night sesh. Overall, if you're after a spot that nails the basics with a touch of something special, I'd say give it a go – it's got that community feel that's perfect for a relaxed afternoon or evening out.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious, with a fantastic mezze-style menu full of fresh, locally sourced dishes that make every meal feel special.
  • The service is spot-on – friendly and attentive staff who really make you feel welcome, like you're catching up with old mates.
  • The atmosphere is just lovely, like stepping into a cosy oasis with warm tones, natural textures, and even cute outdoor seating for those sunny days.
  • It's great value for money, offering tasty small plates, wines, and drinks without breaking the bank, perfect for a casual get-together.
  • It's such a versatile spot – whether you're popping in for a midweek coffee and pastries or enjoying an evening of drinks and snacks, it caters to all sorts of occasions.
Cons
  • It's only open four days a week, which can be a bit limiting if you're hoping to drop by on a Sunday or Monday.
  • From what I've seen, there aren't many options for late-night visits, as things wrap up fairly early in the evening.

The food is delicious and service brilliant. Feels like your on holiday abroad rather than Chorley! Cant wait to just go for drinks .. Locally sourced so great for the community.

Visited Sun and Salt recently and wow — what a gorgeous spot. As soon as I walked in and caught the scent of incense, I knew it was my kind of place. The interior is like a tranquil oasis, filled with natural textures and warm tones — such good vibes all round. Their mezze-style menu is packed with flavour and so up my street, it was hard to choose a favourite dish! The stuffed vine leaves were the perfect start. The whipped feta was light and airy, with a drizzle of honey and a hint of Aleppo pepper that pulled it all together beautifully. The garlic hummus was silky smooth with a punchy zhoug — and the portion sizes were very generous, so no risk of running out before the pitta did! One of the standouts was the broccoli Caesar — so good we tucked in before snapping a pic (always a good sign). The roasted chicken thighs with yoghurt and Lamiri harissa butter were full of flavour and tender. And the beef pastitsada - Rich, comforting and served with dreamy buttered mash that just melted in the mouth. There’s still loads on the menu I want to try, so I’ll definitely be back soon! 📸PICTURED📸 Whipped feta with honey & Aleppo pepper Garlic hummus with zhoug Broccoli Caesar Roasted chicken thighs with yoghurt & Lamiri harissa butter Beef pastitsada with buttered mash Stuffed vine leaves

I have been desperate to try this place for ages and finally got to go yesterday not just once but twice. It’s a little sun trap! The place not only looked great but the service was fab, food delicious and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere was great and sitting out on the cute tables outside on the street felt like being on holiday! Thank you, I will be back.

An amazing experience. Hospitality, ambience, food, drink and the people. Would highly recommend. The orange wine is a must paired with delicious small plates. Great value with a variety of dishes.

What a fantastic addition to Chorley town centre. Amazing fresh food, great beers, wine, coffee, super friendly staff, super atmosphere - Sun & Salt has everything you need for a brilliant time. It’s a versatile spot too. Perfect for a lovely Saturday evening meal, a midweek coffee and lunch or a casual drink on a Friday night. Jess and her team are a true credit!
