About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about The Third Crossing – it's this lovely restaurant down in Lowestoft, tucked away by the Haven Marina, and it's become one of my go-to places for a proper seafood feast. The food is just spot on; I've heard from folks who've raved about the fresh prawns with that garlicky chilli butter, or the scallops with a surprising pea puree that adds a nice twist. It's all prepared with care in their high-hygiene kitchen, using local ingredients, which really makes the meals feel special and authentic. The staff are an absolute delight, always on hand without being overbearing, just like that server Aidan who got glowing mentions for being so attentive. And sitting by the water with those picturesque views? It's the perfect backdrop for a chilled evening or even a brunch to start your day. On the flip side, it does fill up quickly, so planning ahead is a must if you don't want to miss out, and if seafood isn't your thing, the menu might not have as many alternatives. Plus, with the moderate prices, it's more of a treat than an everyday stop, but honestly, for what you get, it's well worth it. All in all, if you're in the area and fancy a solid meal with great vibes, I'd say give it a go – you won't be disappointed!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely top-notch, with fresh seafood and steak dishes that are cooked to perfection – think succulent lobsters and scallops that leave you wanting more.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive.
-
It's set in a gorgeous spot by the marina in Oulton Broad, offering stunning views that really add to the relaxed dining experience.
-
They've got a well-stocked bar that's open all day, perfect for unwinding with a drink before or after your meal.
-
Everything's sourced locally where possible, which gives it that authentic, fresh feel, and the place maintains high hygiene standards.
Cons
-
It can get quite busy, especially in the evenings, so you'll need to book ahead to avoid disappointment.
-
As it's primarily a seafood and steak venue, it might not suit everyone – if you're not a fan of fish or fancy something lighter, you could find the options a bit limited.
-
With moderate pricing, it might feel a tad pricey for a casual night out, though it's worth it for the quality.

Had a devious meal here. It's by the water and the staff were fabulous. My starter of pork belly with apple and cinnamon sauce was a treat. Piping hot. Steak and seafood available, fresh lobster dishes. A lady said the whitebait was amazing.

Well Done 💯👌🏼
This is our first dinner of our trip to Norfolk and I’m glad that it was a great start. We all loved the scallops and the unique great taste of the pea puree was a big surprise! Lobsters were all cooked to perfect. Our server Aidan is a star! He was very attentive to our needs and his professional manner throughout the night made us feel like in a 5-star fine dinning restaurant. Will definitely recommend this restaurant and will come again in future.
Excellent experience. Food was absolutely delicious and atmosphere just right . 1st time here , certainly wont be our last.
Staff were very polite and attentive. Can't ask for more.
Located discreetly in a mariner.... definitely a hidden gem. Staff were extremely friendly and always at hand. Initially only one other table was there but it soon got busy but this did not change the quality of the service.
The starter prawns was served with the best garlic chilli butter sauce I've ever had. lobster was cooked nicely and the thermadore sauce.
The sticky toffee pudding was the cherry on top of the entire meal
