Shish Anatolia in Lowestoft

We eat here about 3 weeks ago or so as We holiday every year on the Broads with our friends and always make a point of coming to Shish Anatolia It never disappoints. Food is amazing and staff are so friendly and accommodating. It’s one of the highlights of our holiday. Thank you once again.

Fantastic food — tasty, well-seasoned, and portion sizes that hit the spot! We were ready to hand out a solid 5 stars… until the surprise guest star on our bill: a £2 garlic sauce. Tiny but mighty, apparently! We didn’t mind paying, but it gave us a bit of a chuckle. Just a little heads-up next time would help avoid the “sauce shock.” Still, a great experience overall!

I have dined at Shish Anatolia in Lowestoft multiple times before and always enjoyed it, but my latest visit was nothing short of horrifying. I was served a **mouldy tomato with visible fur on it**—a completely unacceptable health hazard. As someone with asthma and allergies, consuming this could have been dangerous, even fatal. What made the experience even worse was the lack of care from the staff. **No one checked on us during the meal**, and it was only when we had finished that a waitress came over. I pointed out the appalling state of the food, and rather than an apology or concern, the owner **dismissed it as charcoal**—a claim that was not only absurd but insulting. Despite clear evidence of food unfit for consumption, they **refused to acknowledge the issue and still charged the full £51.60**. I never expected such negligence from a restaurant I once trusted. **This experience has completely shattered my confidence in their standards, and I would strongly caution others before dining here**. If you value food safety and customer care, **look elsewhere**.

Absolutely beautiful meal, the atmosphere is buzzing and the staff really add to this. Being able to see in the kitchen and the meats being barbecued is a unique experience. The views outside, especially on a night like tonight, were amazing. We all had a different meal and we could not of asked for anything more. A really beautiful restaurant which is obviously cared about. Highly recommend!

We just came back from such a wonderful meal for my birthday. I’m also visiting from Australia where I have missed Turkish food and this really hit the spot! Huge portions, great service, clean, has great views and I currently can’t move I ate so much because the food was so good! Strongly recommend!
