About This Pub

You know, when I think about The Swan Hotel, it's one of those places that just feels like a dependable old mate in Milton Keynes. It's got this warm, relaxed vibe that's perfect for sinking into a comfy chair with a pint and watching the big match on their impressive setup of screens – I can see why it's a go-to for sports fans. The rooms are straightforward but clean and cosy, ideal if you're in town for a quick visit to places like Bletchley Park, and the breakfasts are just the ticket for a simple, satisfying start to the day without breaking the bank. On the flip side, it's not exactly luxurious, so if you're after something a bit posher, you might find it lacking that extra polish. Plus, with no set hours easily available, you could end up disappointed if you rock up and it's closed, and don't get me started on the taxi fares around there – they can really put a dampener on things. All in all, though, it's a solid pick for a laid-back evening or a no-nonsense overnight, and I'd say it's worth a try if you're in the area and fancy a bit of that classic pub charm.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is spot on for a relaxed pint and catching the footy on one of their eight large screens – it's a proper sports bar vibe.
  • Rooms are clean, comfortable, and offer great value, especially if you're after a simple overnight stay near Bletchley Park or other local spots.
  • Breakfasts are a highlight – think hearty fry-ups at reasonable prices, making it a solid choice for a budget-friendly meal.
  • It's conveniently located with a spacious car park and close to train stations, so popping in after exploring Milton Keynes is a breeze.
Cons
  • It's a bit no-frills, so if you're hoping for something more upscale, it might feel a tad basic and underwhelming.
  • No clear operating hours listed, which could leave you scratching your head if you're planning a visit and it turns out to be shut.
  • Some folks have mentioned pricey taxis in the area, so getting there or back might add a bit of hassle to your night out.

Stayed one night for Bletchley Park. Rooms are simple, clean and comfortable and a perfect ensuite. Breakfast served in the bar was cereal or fry-up. Plain and simple. Price was very good. Restaurants nearby.
