About This Pub
You know, when I think about The Angel, it's got that proper old-school pub charm that's just lovely for a casual get-together with mates. The staff really stand out – they're so approachable and quick to help, which makes the place feel welcoming from the get-go, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or settling in for the evening. It's spot on for families and dogs too, with plenty of space to relax, and the menu hits the mark with hearty classics and those sharing plates that pair brilliantly with live music or watching the footy on the telly. The garden's a real highlight, offering a peaceful spot to unwind when the weather's on your side. On the downside, I've seen a bit of mixed feedback where someone had a disappointing experience with the service, which is a pity because overall, it's got a solid reputation. Still, with all the positives like the events and atmosphere, I'd say it's worth checking out – just go in with an open mind, as every pub has its ups and downs.

The secluded garden with a covered area is an absolute gem, especially on a sunny day when you can enjoy a pint outdoors.
Cons

There have been a few instances of inconsistent service, like one person feeling let down by how they were treated, which could put a damper on things.
-
It might not always live up to expectations for everyone, as some feedback suggests the odd off moment in terms of hospitality.

Welcoming, family friendly pub. Dog and kid friendly. Manager and Staff professional, friendly and helpful.
Absolutely fantastic time at the Angel last night with the band Rubik's playing the best sounds of the 80s. Whole pub dancing and singing along the atmosphere was electric ⚡ The staff here are friendly and welcoming, very quick getting service. Rubik's did a old London style sing a long section for VE day...it was an amazing tribute, we all sang along and danced ❤️will definitely be back for more.
Once again a Brilliant night at the Angel watching and dancing to the Rubiks 80s band.....always a good atmosphere and friendly bar staff...👍
Great little pub. Friendly staff and good food.
Lived in Waltham Abbey for nearly 30yrs built a business and helped a lot of friends build a business and become part of the community really disappointed the way i was treated knew the owner before amazing Very disappointed that McMullen allow this. Reputation in a small town is hugely influential to your reputation as a business Fortunate to be related to a high profile celebrity who visits the town Tony’s Pie N Mash I will not be recommend or be drinking in this pub again I hope all your pubs will not be the same awful 😞
