About This Pub
Ah, The Standing Order in Stevenage – it's one of those dependable Wetherspoon spots that you can pop into for a cheap pint and a solid meal without much fuss. I really appreciate the classic British feel; it's got that cosy vibe that's just spot on for a relaxed evening with friends. The food's generally spot on too, especially their breakfasts which are fantastic value and hit the spot nicely. But, let's be honest, the service isn't always up to scratch – we've seen a few slip-ups with orders, like mixing up non-alcoholic drinks or getting the wrong dishes, and it can take a while for things to arrive, which is a bit of a downer. Still, if you're after an affordable option that's clean and straightforward, it's worth giving it a go, just maybe keep an eye on what you're ordering to avoid any hiccups.

First time here. Nice atmosphere but the service is absolutely terrible. I asked a 0 alcohol beer since I can’t drink alcohol, and they brought me an alcoholic beer. I asked for Quorn chicken nuggets and they brought me real chicken. Had I not spot the difference in texture and taste, they’d fed me meat after not having had any in almost 20 years. Appalling, never again.
The pub inside is classic british, just beautiful for anybody coming to get a drink. The food was alright, not great not terrible. It would take a long time for somebody to come with the food or drinks. But it was a pleasurable experience all together.
I go to the standing order regulary for food and drink and its one of the best Wetherspoon i been to staff are very friendly, respectful and the food always perfect nice and hot and tasty. I was there today 13th Feb and i witness such lovely customer service from one of the staff who was so nice towards a lad with LD reasuring him and just being so nice was good to see credit to her.
Quick bite to eat. Or if you drink alcohol it’s your local pub to have a pint or glass of vine.
However the service could be slightly better.
My friend ordered sparkling water for me and I hit still water. With the meal I have ordered Sanpellegrino Rossa and got Sanpellegrino Limonata. The burger was nice, the halloumi fries where nice too while warm however when cold was not eatable, fries where not eatable neither warm nor cold.
Clean and value for money. As with all of Weather spoons, the breakfast is excellent value. The buffalo dark amber ale had a nice old fashioned malty taste and for under £3 was not to missed.
