About This Pub

Ah, let me tell you about The Broken Seal Tap Room – it's one of those places that just hits the spot if you're into craft beers and a good chat. From what I've seen in the reviews, folks are raving about the interesting selection of brews, whether you're sipping in-house or grabbing some to take away, and it's clear they put a lot of heart into celebrating local stories through their beers. The staff really make the place shine with their friendly welcomes and that welcoming bustle, paired with decent music and snacks that keep things enjoyable without overcomplicating it. On the flip side, it's tucked away on a busy high street, so getting there might not be the easiest, especially if you're not local or driving, and starting service at 2 PM means it's more of an afternoon or evening hangout rather than a full-day affair. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint with mates, as long as you're prepared for that little bit of effort to get there – I'd say it's well worth it for the excellent vibes and brews!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer selection is absolutely spot on – a fantastic range of fresh, seasonal brews and even some Belgian options, perfect for anyone who loves exploring new flavours.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • The atmosphere is lively and enjoyable, with good music and a cosy vibe that makes for a proper relaxing evening.
  • They've got a nice selection of bar snacks to go with your drinks, adding to the overall experience without needing to head elsewhere.
Cons
  • The location on a busy high street means it might involve a bit of a trek or a walk along a main road, which isn't ideal if you're not up for it.
  • It doesn't open until the afternoon, around 2 PM, so it's not the best spot if you're after a morning pint or an early start to your day.

Big surprise this was! I was stopping at the Premier Inn before an early flight (a mile away) and a quick Google search for a beer before bedtime showed up this place... so, a 15 minute yomp along the busy road was in order. Nice little brewkit out the back and a decent range of their own and guest beers on tap, all visible on untappd. Beers were decent not great, but it's my kind of place and I'd definitely go back if I'm in town again!

I have wanted to visit for a while and I am glad I did. Warm and welcoming bustling tap bar offering a large selection of beers from local brewer Six Hills plus a vast selection of canned craft beer.
