About This Pub
Ah, The Stables Lounge – it's one of those hidden gems in Cumbernauld that I've come across, and I have to say, it's got a real charm about it. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the food is a standout; folks rave about the fresh, home-cooked meals, especially that three-course Sunday lunch that's spot on for a relaxed family outing. The staff are an absolute delight, always attentive and making sure everyone feels right at home, even with little ones or furry friends in tow. And let's not forget the atmosphere – it's cosy as can be with a fire going in the winter, and come summer, the outdoor area with its incredible views is just the ticket for a chilled pint or two. They've even got things like a golf driving range and footgolf to keep things interesting. On the flip side, it can feel a tad quiet sometimes, which might not hit the spot if you're after a lively night out, and it seems like the place hasn't quite got the buzz it deserves, with events not always pulling in the crowds. Still, at these affordable prices and with such solid ratings, I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area – just pop in and see for yourself, you might end up as smitten as those who left glowing feedback!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – think fresh, home-cooked grub that's perfect for a relaxed Sunday lunch, and it's all at an inexpensive price point.
-
The staff are so friendly and attentive; they go out of their way to make you feel welcome, even if you're juggling a baby and a dog.
-
It's got a lovely atmosphere, with a cosy fire in the winter and a cracking outdoor area in the summer that boasts amazing views – ideal for soaking up the sunshine.
-
Plenty of outdoor seating and fun extras like a golf driving range and footgolf make it a great spot for a bit of variety beyond just the drinks and meals.
Cons
-
It can be a bit quiet at times, which takes away from that lively pub feel, especially if you're hoping for a buzzing crowd.
-
The place could do with more publicity; some events, like that Abba tribute act, didn't draw much of a turnout, which is a shame for such a gem.
-
With only a handful of reviews overall, it might not be on everyone's radar yet, so you could find it under the radar in terms of popularity.

Three course Sunday lunch. Great atmosphere, service and food. Had our newborn baby with us and dog and were given a very comfortable table to accommodate us.
I'm biased as my mates and I live this place. Great staff, cosy fire in the winder and cracking outdoor area in the summer. Amazing views when you're sat outside. Great venue
First time visit today and definitely won't be our last! Friendly attentive staff and the food was great, fresh and home cooked tasty grub! I have no negative comments about The Stables I would recommend this place 100% 😁
Nice pub can be quite at times but when there is a crowd in it has got a great feel about the place. Drink prices are just your average of any other pub but during the hot weather it's great place with plenty of outdoor seating and nice views. They have a golf driving range and an 18 hole footgolf course,
Excellent night at the Stables. The owners couldn't do more for you. Needs more publicity as the Abba tribute act were great but not a great turn out. Thanks to the owners and staff.
