About This Pub
Ah, The Shipping Forecast – it's one of those pubs that just gets it right most of the time, tucked away in the centre of Liverpool where you can pop in for a quick lunch or settle in for the big match. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are absolute gems, always up for a laugh and making sure you're looked after, which really makes the place feel inviting, especially if you're a bit nervous in pub settings. The food's generally a winner too – think hearty meals like fish and chips that hit the spot, paired with fair prices and deals that won't break the bank, perfect for a casual get-together. On the flip side, it can be hit or miss with some items on the menu, like the burgers that didn't quite live up to expectations for a few folks, and if you swing by on a quiet Tuesday, you might find the atmosphere lacking that electric energy. All in all, it's a solid choice for us pub enthusiasts looking for a reliable spot to unwind, but I'd say it's best to go with the flow and pick your visit wisely for the full experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in – it's like chatting with mates behind the bar.
-
The food hits the spot, with tasty options like fish and chips and brilliant starters that offer great value, especially with those meal and drink deals.
-
It's got a lively atmosphere for watching live sport or enjoying a relaxed pint, and being in the heart of Liverpool makes it perfect for a catch-up with friends.
-
The pub's warm and ambient vibe, especially with seasonal decorations, adds a nice touch that lifts your spirits on a grey day.
Cons
-
It can be a bit quiet at times, like on a midweek evening, which might not suit if you're after a buzzing crowd.
-
Some dishes, such as the burgers, haven't impressed everyone, so you might want to stick to the stronger menu items to avoid disappointment.

Visited on a quiet Tuesday but quickly served at the bar. Order a little food that came quickly and tasted good. Not much atmosphere as it was very quiet but friendly staff & lovely food
Warm ambient pub that serves meals in the centre of Liverpool. Food was lovely, well decorated with Christmas cheer. Friendly staff. Well recommended
We came here with hopes of having Fish and chips and were very satisfied with our meals. Everything was excellent! Props to Adam, who served us. And the price was more than fair, we came for lunch and got the meal and drink deal, which we strongly recommend! All in all a great experience!
We were looking gif the place with English cuisine and it was the best rated on the area. Atmosphere and interior are really interesting and busy that means it’s a really popover place. Started were amazing and tasty, but burgers were not great even we were starving. You have to order the food at the counter that was strange for us.
