About This Pub

Ah, Concert Square—it's one of those places in Liverpool that just pulls you in with its electric energy and array of spots under one roof, from cocktail bars serving up pizzas to full-on nightclubs with thumping tunes. I have to say, it's dead brilliant for getting the night started; the atmosphere is always alive and buzzing, and you'll find friendly faces behind the bar who keep things light-hearted. The music's spot-on too, really getting you in the mood, and with options for gaming or sports vibes, it's easy to see why folks rave about it. On the flip side, though, I've heard a few tales of sneaky tactics to lure you in that don't quite deliver, and the service can be a right faff sometimes, leaving you waiting ages for drinks even when it's not rammed. Still, if you're up for a proper sesh in a central spot with moderate prices, it's worth a punt—just keep your expectations in check for the odd slip-up. All in all, it's a solid choice for a memorable evening, as long as you go in with a bit of patience and a sense of adventure.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is always buzzing and full of energy, especially at night—it's a fantastic spot to kick off an evening out in Liverpool.
  • There's a great variety of venues all in one place, from cocktail bars and gaming spots to sports bars and nightclubs, so there's something for everyone.
  • The staff come across as friendly and chill, and they've got quality music playing that really sets the scene for a good time.
  • It's open late until 4:00 most days, which is brilliant if you're up for a proper night out without worrying about closing times.
  • Some areas have handy table heating, which makes it comfy even on chillier evenings.
Cons
  • There can be a bit of a bait-and-switch feel, like with free shot offers that don't pan out once you're inside.
  • Service might drag on, with long waits for orders even when things aren't too hectic, which can put a damper on the fun.
  • The drink selection seems a tad limited, so if you're after something specific, you might end up disappointed.
  • It gets packed quickly, which adds to the vibe but can make it overwhelming or hard to get served on busier nights.

Stopped by Concert Square in Liverpool after being offered a card for a free shot while walking past. Seemed like a nice gesture—until we sat down and were told they had “run out” of the shot. Felt like a bait-and-switch tactic just to get people in. We ordered drinks to the table and waited… and waited. Meanwhile, we watched multiple people who went directly to the bar receive their drinks far quicker than us. After about 15 minutes, we asked a server who took the order where our drinks were. He said he’d check but continued serving other tables without following up. Asked again, got the same vague response. Only after 25 minutes from entering did we finally get our drinks. It’s a shame, really—Concert Square could be a great spot with its nice outdoor area. But the service was frustratingly slow and disorganized. With so many similar venues in Liverpool offering better service and value, we won’t be returning. Plenty of better options nearby. Funny enough, on our way out we told the lady offering the free shots that they had run out, that didn't stop her from handing the card out.

It can get really busy as bars on both sides but that's part of the atmosphere , nice to start the nigh and then move on .

Terrible system - table service only apparently, left waiting for ages before order then ages again for drinks to arrive, on a very quiet night. Limited range of drinks. Tables do have heating which is effective

This was a superb venue for clubbing, coming with the bonus of a free entry in such a friendly city as Liverpool! The room has open access to outside which adds to the booming night atmosphere, counter is flashy as expected too. Quality music played helps set the scene, staff are chill and the lighting is top notch!
