About This Pub
Ah, The Lime Kiln – it's one of those classic Wetherspoon spots that you can't help but appreciate for its straightforward charm. From what I've gathered from the chatter online, it's a go-to for anyone wanting a wallet-friendly pint or a bite to eat in the thick of Liverpool's hustle and bustle. Stephen raved about the solid pub food and good ales, saying it's perfect for a chilled Sunday brekkie or a spirited Saturday sesh, and Maryann echoed that with her love for the music and great atmosphere at night – it's like a little disco in there! K. Peake was all about the top-notch location and comfortable seating, making it ideal for a drink before heading out on the town. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses; Jimmy had a right moan about some underwhelming steaks and ham and eggs, which shows it can be hit or miss with the grub. Kerry mentioned the breakfast was alright but nothing special, and the service could've done with a smile. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're after something reliable and fun without splashing out, but keep in mind that on busier days, things might not run as smoothly as you'd hope. If you're popping into Liverpool, it's worth a try for that authentic pub feel, just go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a good time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
It's a cracking spot for value for money, with affordable drinks and meals that won't break the bank, just like you'd expect from a Wetherspoon.
-
The atmosphere is spot on, especially in the evenings when it turns into a lively hub with music and a real buzz, perfect for a night out in Liverpool's city centre.
-
They've got a solid selection of ales and pub grub that hits the spot, whether you're after a relaxed breakfast or something heartier.
-
The location is brilliant, right in the heart of the action, making it easy to pop in before or after exploring the area.
Cons
-
Food quality can be a bit inconsistent; some meals are just okay, and there have been tales of disappointing dishes that didn't live up to expectations.
-
Service isn't always top-notch – it might feel a tad rushed or lacking in warmth, which can put a damper on things.
-
It can get pretty packed, especially on busy nights, so you might end up jostling for a seat or waiting around a bit.

The Lime Kiln blends solid pub food, good ales, and lively atmosphere neatly under one roof. Whether you're after a chilled Sunday breakfast or a spirited Saturday night, it's a dependable Wetherspoon classic right in the thick of Liverpool's nightlife.
Was a great place played music food was good great atmosphere at night time as it's a disco spoons
My daughter and I took our Dutch friends (who were staying in Liverpool for a few days) to the Lime Kiln Wetherspoons off Hanover Street. We expected the food to be wonderful as we have eaten in many other Wetherspoons. At 6 pm 3 steaks were ordered medium to well, and 3 Wiltshire ham and eggs. All 3 steaks were well done and were hard to slice with the steak knives! Chips were lukewarm and the fried eggs on the Wiltshire ham were overdone and rubbery! My daughter complained to the manager who was so rude in his manner! Also, the condition of the female and the gents toilets were terrible! The Gents had no toilet paper each time we went! The bar service however was great, but nevertheless, WHAT A LET DOWN WETHERSPOONS! What was meant to be a lovely memorable occasion was ruined! I couldn’t apologise enough to our Dutch friends.
Popped into Liverpool city centre and decided to have some breakfast at The Lime Kiln JD Wetherspoons pub.

Service = was OK could of been better. Smile doesn't cost nothing.
This was a superb pub for drinking, with a top notch location too in Liverpool's main clubbing district to go out afterwards! The area is very large and has a flashiness, counter is well-presented too. Seating is comfortable and atmosphere was fantastic; cocktails were definitely enjoyable here!
